Capital '1' hints

Dear Dorothy:
1 have been given a promo-
tion,and I'm afraid I won't be
able to live up to what's ex-
pected of me. I have to hire
and fire and keep things going
smooth. Please give me some
pointers , . - good or bad.
J. J.
Dear J. J.:
You've, given a top-notch
performance. Your boss has
seen you in action. So, you got
yourself a promotion.
An evaluation of your writ-
ing shows you to be efficient,
energetic, and intelligent.
However, some,- Of the traits
which I as'e pushed you ahead'
could, now, cause you to fall
short as you become an ex-
ecutive.
That small beginning loop
on the capital I is the stickler.
While it acted as a spur in pro-
moting yourself, it can, now,
nick the importance you feel
in your top position, by a fear
of losing it..
The time has come when
you must capitalize on your
ability to think in terms of
what you can do for other peo-
ple. You have it, seen in the
word endings along the line of
writing, but keep it nourished
- it looks chancy.
A fear that someone will
move in ahead of you .keeps
you alert to anyone who might
take advantage of your will-
ingness to share your
thoughts, ideas, etc. So, you
hold fast to whatever will
keep you on top, seen in the
hooks on the word endings.
For any tone of satisfaction,
you feel that you and your.
work must be spotlighted over
that of anyone else. This was
fine when you .were. making

have arrived, you have to let
others fulfill their ambitions,
