Mrs, Webster Jacklin of Listo- wel is a visitor since Tuesday last with her daughter, Mrs. Archie Purdon, Mr. Purdon and family. Whitechurch Rising Rolls 441 Club held a work meeting Satur- day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Walter Elliott. Word has been received fr.m Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rintoul that in their vicinity of Schomberg the storm really had traffic tied up. Mrs. Rintoul had four people for a few days due to the storm and Leroy was on a trip to Kentucky from Tuesday to Saturday with a truck for a cattle beast. The trip took much longer due to the storm. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Miles of Hornepayne on the arriv of a baby boy, John Steven, at Victerballo spital, Lon- don, on Thursday, April 3. Mrs. Miles is.the former A ,nue Weber. Brian Falconer of Sarnia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mowbray. Dick Orr of Lan gside I was a Saturday visitor with his mother, Mrs. William Orr, at Wingham Hospital and with his siter, Mrs. John L. Currie and Mr. Currie of Wingham. Visitors on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John L. Currie were Mr. and Mrs. Jini Toth, Robbie The Wingham Advance -Times, Thursday, April 10, 1975 and Billie of Waterloo and Miss Rachel Currie of Cambridge whom they brought with them. Miss Currie is remaining with Mr. and Mrs. Puree for a visit. Murray Simpson of Fanshawe College spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Simpson. Wayne Farrier of Guelple returned on Friday after being in England two weeks with 70 pupils from John Roes High School, Guelph, who were putting on a week of concerts. A choir and stage band, of which Wayne was in charge, presented several con- certs in and around London, Eng- land. They spent a week touring the continent. Mrs. Earl Caslick visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Caslick of Culross on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn on Sunday visited with Mr. and Mrs. Do :las Conley and Jasoli. Winter really gave us all it had last week piing up huge bank of snow. The gas pumps at Bill Willis' service station were piled up with three feet of snQW, On Sunday it was cleaned up with the snowblower by Mack Hutchison. Some of the back roads in the community were not opened until Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Earl Caslick visited from Wednesday to Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Caslick of Wingham. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tiffin on the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Bevin Tiffin and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Tiffin. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon of West Wawanosh were Sunday visitors with Mr. , and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin. Chalmers W. M. S. will hold its April meeting on Wednesday, the MAPLE LEAF -Smoked 133th, at the NM of MN. Gor+. :M ntopl, The leaders are Mars. Caslick apd Mrs. Robert Roes. Helpers are Mrs. Russel jo$s and Mrs. Frank Mewhinny. Melt call is a plant of the Bible; topic, "spring10; courtesy, Mrs. R. Mowbray. The Y.P.S. is sponsoring a.pan- cake supper on Friday, April 11, starting at 8:30 at Langside Com- munity Hall. The admission for the supper w i be donations for the Young People's Society. Due to weather conditions the opening of Sunday School at Chalmers Church. was postponed until April 13 at 9:45. There was no church service on Sunday at the United Church because Larry King was unable to get from Toronto due to weather conditions. At Chalmers Presbyterian Church Graham Kay conducted the service of worship because his father, Bev Kay, was unable to come from Toronto due to the road conditions. Graham gave it very interesting sermon on "The Difference Easter Makes". COTTAGE ROLL s1.25 L.. "SO WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?" seems to be the question in the eyes of man's best friends as they pose in front of ribbons they have won in several Ontario field trials this past winter. The retrievers are Goldie, owned by John Lennox of Sarnia and trained and han- dled by Don Dodds of Dawnflight Kennels and Game Farm, RR 2, Teeswater; Lady, owned by Lloyd Burrow of Hanover; Tom (Bryon Fritz of Palmerston); Sam (Ken Thom- son of Kincardine) and Kanaka, also owned by Mr. Fritz. The dogs and their owners get together every Saturday at the Dodds' farm for group trakning sessions. Mr. Dodds assists the owners and does some professional handling with the above dogs. With spring In the air, the owners are anxiously awaiting a decision from the Ministry of Natural Resources on the possibility of making a water area available at the Hullett Conservation Area In order that the efficient training of quality dogs.can continue.
