The World of Women
rgeneration
may of women
It's .been one celebration after
Waller er this year for the Irwin
Wilily of Belgrave. First, Herson
Erwin celebrated his 79th birth-
day on January 19; then great-
granddaughter Catharine Adelle
was born in Vancouver on Janu-
24; and Mrs. Herson Irwin
lebr ted her 79th birthday on
Vale's Day. Of the three
events, perhaps Catharine Adel-
le's birth was the icing on the
cake, for she becomes the fourth
generation of women in the
family.
It reads like a passage from the
Bible: Catharine Adelle is .,the
Lenten theme
for meeting
BRUSSELS — "Lent is a time
of self-denial and self-examina-
tion; a time to ask ourselves the
question 'What do we treasure in
life and where is that treasure?' "
These words were spoken by
Miss Skelton as she, spoke about_
Lent at the meeting of the after-
noon unit of the United Church
Women held February 11 at the
home of Mrs. W.• Sholdice. Miss
Skelton convened the devotions
with thoughts on Lent and an
Easter hymn was sung. Mrs.
Thomas read scripture from the
26th chapter of the Gospel of
Matthew.
Members listening to the
devotional period of the meeting,
learned "that, rather than a time
to give up things, the Lenten
season is a time to take up some
worthwhile things, such as the
daily reading of the scriptures
and fifteen minutes for medita-
tion and prayer. Miss Lucas
stated, "Important as it is to
clean our homes, is it not equally
important that we clean our
thoughts, minds and hearts?"
There were 12 members
Q-;
present with 14 visitations
1 recorded. Mrs. Smith conducted
an interesting Bible quiz and a
Valentine story was read by Mrs.
Steffler.
The Presbyterial will be held in
Listowel Trinity Church on,
February 26. Mrs. Smith and
Mrs. Steffler were appointed
delegates. Anyone wishing to
attend may contact Mrs.
LeDrew
Prayer by the leader closed the
meeting.

I1esding Substance:
Shrinks Piles
Exclusive healing substance
proven to shrink•beinonhoids and
repair damaged tissue.
A renowned research institute has
found, a unique healing substance
'with the ability to shrink hemor-
rhoids painlessly. It relieves itching
and discomfort in minutes and
speeds up healing of the injured,
inflamed tissue.
In casc after case; while gently
relieving pain, actual reduction
(shrinkage) took place.
Most important of all—results -
were so thorough that this improve-
ment was maintained over a period
of many months.
Ail this was accomplished with a
healing substance (Bio -Dyne) which
quickly helps heal injured cells and
stimulates growth of new tissue.
Now 1io-Dyne is offered in oint-
ment and suppository form called
Preparation H. Ask for it at all drug
stores. Satisfaction or your money
refunded.

All four generations were pres-
ent for a gala celebration, com-

the Irwin home in Belgrave last
Wednesday. Great-grandmother,
grandmother and mother were
all suitably excited, blit three-
week -old Catharine Adelle just
yawned with boredom as she
posed for a picture. After all, she
seemed to say, what's one picture
more or less to a baby who has
travelled on an airplane all the
way from Vancouver to London,
and -then by car to Belgrave.
They also visited with great-
grandmother, Mrs. Mary Arm-
