Lawrence King on Sunday told the congregation at Whitechurch United Church that he would be leaving the charge this summer. Russel Chapman and Fred Tiffin were in London on Monday where Russel had an eye check- up. A Bible study will be held at the manse on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 8:30. Everyone is welcome to attend. Chalmers WMS will hold their February meeting at the home of Notes Mrs. Wesley Tiffin on February 19. The leaders are Mrs. Wesley Warm; Mrs. Angus Falconer with helpers Mrs. Robert Mowbray and Mrs. Harvey Craig. The roll call is "suggestions for new things to do at meethigs". The topic is to be chosen. Courtesy remarks are to be given by Mrs. Earl Caslick. This community extends sympathy to the brothers and sister of the te Tom Moffat who passed away in London hospital on Saturday. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Moffat who at one time resided on the farm now owned by Eric Exel, 4th concession, Kinloss. The children attended SS No. 10. Richard Moore informs us that the Lucknow PeeWee hockey team, of which he is a member, played a quarter final with Tees - water with a score 6-3 in favor of Lucknow, The next game they play will be a semi-PP:4 Wendy Kay on Tuesday left in a bus from Wingham F. E. P44.0111 Secondary School to attend the Winter Carnival at Quebec. They will be away Tuesday to Satur- day. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilken were in London on Thursday where Earl had a medical checkup. Jehovah's Witnesses have increased from 1,150 in 1914 to a peak of 60,015 in 1974, an over 5,000 per cent in- crease. One thing that has contributed to this increase is the semi- annual circuit assembly program designed to train them for their activities. Lenten services GORRIE - The arid of Lenten services for Gorrie and Wroxeter will be held Thursday, February 13 at 8 p.m. in the Gorrie United Church. Rev. Wesley B. Ball will speak on the theme, "Religion of a Penitent Thief". These services will alternate between the Gorrie and Wroxeter Churches on Thursdays at 8 p.m. POSTMASTER GORD SUTCLIFFE of Wingham receives a certificate of service and a 25 -year pin from W. I-1.
