Mrs. Archie Purdon and Mrs.
Waiter Elliott attended 4-H train-
ing school at Ripley Friday and
Saturday for the project, "Let's
Bake Bread", which the leaders
say is most interesting.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin,
Russel Chapman and Mrs. Bessie
Mulliss were in London on Mon-
day. ,
The past week has kept Mack
Hutchison busy with his snow
blower keeping the snow re-
moved from private driveways

Mrs. Wallace Conn on Saturday
accompanied Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Conley of Wingham to
London and visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Herb Hunter and Trevor.
Mrs. Dawson Craig, Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin and Mrs. Bill Rin-
toul of the Whitechurch W.M.S.
attended Maitland Presbyterial
meeting on Monday at St. An-
drew's Church, Wingham.
The annual meeting of the
United Church is being held
Thursday evening, January 30, at
8:30 in the church.
The ladies of the United Church
were busy last week quilting in
the church basement.
Miss Mildred McClenaghan of
Goderich. spent the weekend at
her home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Morrison of
Little Current arrived in Luck -
now on Saturday and visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morrison until
Sunday when they proceeded
Brantiard to attend the funeral of
his sister, Mrs. Norma Taylor,
being held there on Monday.
Mrs. Evan Keith, Mrs. Bob
Bregni an of Culross and Mrs.
Wallace Milligan were at Mrs.
Victor Emerson's on Friday
auditing Maitland Presbyterial
books of which Mrs. Keiis
treasurer.
The Y.P.S. is planning an old
fashion( 7 • ging of entertain-
ment .1, h. pox social will be

The annual reports. of Chal-
mers PresbyterianChurch were
on hand on Sunday, January 19,
with the annual meeting being
beld Friday afternoon, January
244, at 1:30 in the Church Sunday
School room.
On Friday, is community was
sorry to hear that Mrs. Norma
Taylor, the former Norma ldprri-
son, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. J. B. Morrison, had passed
away at Brantford. Her home
was on the farm now owned by
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morrison and
she attended S.S. No. 10. The
community extends sympathy to
the brothers and sisters.

WHITECUURCH -- The Com-
mandments was the topic of the
meeting of the Young People's
Society held Sunday evening in
the Chalmers Church Sunday
school room. The meeting opened
with a hymn sing. `
Miss Hilda de Boer was in
charge of the worship service and
scripture, from Matthew 22, was
read by Fred de Boer. Hilda,
Fred and John de Boer presented
a skit on the commandments.
Hilda also gave a reading and
discussion followed oh "Com-
mandments".
The business centered on plans
for the program and box social to
be held February 1 in the White-
church Hall.
The offering was received and
dedicated by Graham -Kay.
Grace was sung after which all
enjoyed lunch.
