Council as ey met for the firsk time in 1975. Reeve Robert Gibso3n was ap- pointed to represent Howick on the Wingham District Hospital Board. The reeve and Coun. Harve McMichael were appointed to the Pioneer Park Board, which is a small park dedicated to the first Howick settlers. Coun. Harold Hyndman was selected to serve on the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority for 1975 while Coun. McMichael will represent Howick Township on the Saugeen Valley Conserva- tion Authority. Council appointed the following boards: Belmore Hall Board, Mac Inglis, Ken Dickson, Barry Mulvey, Mrs. Leonard Metcalfe, Earl Fitch, H. McMichAel, Cow—, Stuart Douglas; Fordwich Hall Board, Dave Dinsmore, John Wilson, Anson Demerlting, Stan Bride, Coun. James Robinson, Reeve Gibson, Mrs. Crosby Sotheran, Clarence Carswell; Gorrie Hall Board, Bev. Currah, Bill Nag, Mrs. Jack Ferguson, Ray Gowdy, Coun. Hyndman and Reeve Gibson; Wroxeter Hall Board, Andrew Gibson, Mrs. Robert Brown, Bruce Chambers, Gordon Kaster, Corn. Hyndman and Colon. Fence viewers appointed were Larne Robinson, Blake Gibson, John Ferguson, Tom Inglis, Bruce Kreller, James Lynn, Walter Renwick, Robert Hastie and Robert Allan. Robert McNair was appointed poundkeeper for the Township of Howick for 1975. Coun. McMichael was desig- nated as fire area representative for the Wingham area. The recreation committee will be Dave Neilson, Mrs. June Mac- Ewen, Gordon Kaster, Linda Pocaluyko, Lynn Bunker, Mac Inglis, Garfield Gibson, Coun. Hyndman and Coun. Douglas. Coun. McMichael was ap- pointed by council to serve as livestock and poultrx evaluator, to be paid $10 a trip. Council decided to join two or- ganizations for 1975, the Ontario Association of Rural Municipals- ties at a fee of $120.72, and the On- tario Farm irrainage Associ*tion at a cost of $15. Coun.. Douglas was appointed tile drainage in- spector. MOVING ARENAS Two arenas were sold by. the township, one in Wroxeter and the other in Gorrie. George rown's tender of $1,250was accepted for the i. purchase of the Gorrie Arena. The lease for the land will be fdr two years at a nominal charge of $1 a year. Mr. Brown will have the first option on the lease in two years. The only stipulation with the sale was that existing water agreements with the Howick Lions Club and Gorrie Com- munity Livestock Auction must be honored. Over in Wroxeter the arena was sold to Ted Smith of Gerrie with a bid of $1,010. • Jack Mann was hired 'by coun- cil to remove mow from the dump road at a rate of $$ an hour for the 1975 winter. Council instructed the road superintendent to call for tenders for diesel fuel and furnace oil which must be in the clerk's hands by Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. A motion was passed request- ing any organization seeking grants throughout 1870 to submit their tentative budgets before March 1.
