MEET AFTER 32 'YEARS—Mrs, Earl Newell Of' RR 1,
Fordwich (left), is pictured with a long-time friend Mrs.
Phil Bottrell of Hannah, North. Dakota. The two women met
for the first time in 32 years during the past `meek. Mrs. Bot-
trell was accompanied by her husband and son Donald.
They were enroute to Sudbury to visit relatives but called on
the Newell family while in this area. The women last saw
each other in Vancouver 32 years ago when they both re-
sided in British Columbia. During the years Mrs. Newell
continued to correspond with Mrs. Boftrell's sister; but not

GORRIR — At the Mornifig
service in 'Garde United Church
on December 29 a great time of
blessing was shared by members
and friends on the last Sunday of
the old year. Following on from
the watch night service, Rev.
Wesley B. Ball read as his lesson,
the letter of Paul to the Philip-
pians, chapter 3; and his sermon
topic on that occasion was "Press
On". Forgetting yesterday's sins
about which we tend to brood and
yesterday's successes over which
we boast, let us keep our eyes. on
Christ. It was a fitting theme for
the year ending.'
Also, at the same service, the
minister received and dedicated
two memorials in the form of
brass candlesticks to the memory
of the late Mr. and Mfrs. Ewart
Whitfield. The late Anne Whit-
field served for many years in the
Sunday School department of
Gorrie United with love and
devotion. Mr. Whitfield was
church treasurer and a steward
of the church for many years.
The occasion brought many
warm memories to the hearts
and minds of members of the
church as they recalled the years
of faithful service rendered in the
Name of Christ by the late Mr.
and Mrs. Whitfield.
The memorials were presented
to the church by their sons,
