Citadel Band provided Christmas
music. The service of the 20th
was broadcast and featured
special music by the Townson
Family of Chatham. Everyone
was invited to join the congre-
gation for a New Year's Eve
watchnight service to begin at 11
p.m. Tuesday.
The Sacred Heart Church cele-
brated ¢hristmas Eve with a
midnight mass preceded by
carols at 11:80 p.m. There was a
Christmas day service at 9:30. A
New Year's eve service will be
held at 8 p.m., and the New
Year's mass will be at 11:15.
St. Paul's Anglican Church
held a special Nine Lesson Carol
Service on Christmas Sunday and
both Christmas Eve and, Christ-
mas day services. The nine
lessons were read - by Larry Milo-
sevic, Michael Beattie, Elizabeth
Nethery, Keith Nethery, Michael
Milosevic, Robert Johnston, Don
Farnell, Harry'Brydges and Rev.
Ken Hawthorn. ' The readings
N were interspersed with carols
sung by the choir and congre-
gation. The Christmas Eve Com-
' munion service was highlighted
by the Belgrave Men's Choir
under the direction of Rev. John
Roberts. Rev. Roberts gave a
splo performance of the, Lord's
prayer. The Christmas Day
family service was centered
around the children. Rev. Haw-
thorn spoke on the shepherds'
story, and the scripture reading
was the Christmas story.
Christmas Sunday at St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church was
celebrated, with a morning ser-
vice and an . evening Festival of
Carols. Christmas Eve service
was also held with scripture
readings from the Old Testa-
nnent, solos by Gordon Leggatt
and meditation on "Following the
Star".

Rev. Barry Passmore, speak-
ing Sunday morning to the
congregation of the Wingham
United Church, spoke about "The
Past, The' Present and The
Future". Referring to the ending
of one year and a new beginning
as 19751ies before us, he based his
message on the forgiving love of
God which we are urged to share
with others. In closing, he re-
minded all that God's love and
care will see them through all
misfortune and trial and they can
face the new year with confi-
dence.
,During the service, Mr.
Passmore welcomed four infants
into the fellowship of church by
the sacrament of baptism. They
were Chantell Denise, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Garry Robinson;
Kendra Doreen, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bruce Machan;, Ryan
Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Deyell; and Shawn Thomas,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Creeden.
The senior choir, under the
direction of H. Swatridge, pro-
vided special music.

Harry McGuire reeeived word
last Wednesday evening of the
sudden passing of his sister, Mrs.
Lillian Zimmerman.
Robert Coultes was able to
return home from St. Joseph's
Hospital on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. James R. Coultes
and Mrs. George Martin spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.(Cecil
Armstrong and family in Thorn -

Phyllis Haverfield, was ap-
pointed due to the death of Mary
Moore.
Four cartons of good used
clothing were sent by LTL of
Listowel to the Scott Mission in
Toronto in the last month. Christ-
mas cards were signed for all the
sick and shut-in members and a
card and gift were sent to the
adopted soldier at London.
Twenty-five dollars will also be
sent to the True Blue and Orange
Orphanage at Richmond Hill.
The books will be audited at the
next meeting.
