music, including the traditional
Wedding March, was provided by
H. Swatridge at the console of the
church organ.
The bride's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Ohio of Wingham
and parents of the groom are Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Ruttan of RR 3,
Wingham. Mr. Ohm gavg his
daughter in marriage.
The bridal gown was designed
with an empire waistline and an
A-line satin skirt. The bodice and
long sleeves were made of french
lace. She wore a silver cross
necklace and earrings, gifts of
the groom, and carried a white
Bible crested with yellow Sweet-
heart roses and white satin
ribbon.
The bridal' attendants were
gowned alike in- empire -style
dresses of polyester crepe -with
brown background and dainty
floral design -in shades of orange,
yellow and rust. The gowns
featured full flowing skirts and
yolks of yellow lace with stand-up
collars and cuffs trimrned with
yellow, guipure lace. All the at-
tendants carried dried flowers
of green, yellow, orange and rust,
sprayed with wheat and gathered
in satin ribbon. They wore yellow
earrings, gifts from the bride.
Miss Judi Ohm of Wingham
was her sister's maid of honor
and bridesmaids were Miss
Mardi Adams of Wingham and
Miss Dana Metcalfe of London.
Glenn Ruttan of London,
brother of the groom, was best
man and ushers were Doug Ella-
cott and Tom Ritchie, both of
Wingham.
Orange and .yellow streamers
and bells decorated the Sports-
men's Club where the reception
was held. Yellow roses beautified
the wedding cake and the theme
was complemented by lighted
yellow candles.
The bride's mother wore a
floor -length gown of brown poly-
ester satin designed with scrolls
in orange and beige with brown
sheer slee'es. Her corsage was
gold and rust mums irith an
orange satin bow. 'The groom's
mother chose a long-sleeved
dress of deep pink polyester knit
with a jacket of open weave
design.
For travelling, the bride
changed to a Jong ecru silk skirt
with floral pattern of brown,
yellow and navy, an ecru long-
sleeved blouse and a brown lace
shawl. She wore a wrist corsage
of yellow Sweetheart roses..
Mr. and Mrs. Ruttan will reside
in London.
The bride Is a graduate of the
F. E. Madill Secondary School.
Guests attended the •. wedding
from London, Niagara Falls,
Hamilton, Fordwich, Lucknow,
Goderich, Kitchener, Brussels
and the Wingham area. Honored
guests were the bride's grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs•J. J. Elliott
of Bluevale and Mr's. Rose Ohm
of Wingham; and, the groom's
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.
McDougall of RR 3, Wingham:
'seated their Senior Christmas
concert on Tuesday evening, Pec.
17. The grade five and six pupils
presented a nativity play, "The
Lost Lamb" and a-coiiiedy lett-
ion show. Each group had its own
choir singing lovely Christmas
songs.
The grade seven and eight pup-
ils presented a. very good version
of the "Wizard of Oz", the main
characters being played' by
Esther Wierenga as Dorothy;
Reg 1VMcClory as the Wizard; Ar-
lene Kufske as the Lion; Garry
McWhirter as the Tin Woodsman
and Donna Aitchison as the
Scarecrow.
The principal and the teachers
deserve a lot of credit for the time
and effort they put into .this suc-
cessful presentation.

"Jesus Christ ,Is Born Today ! "
was the message conveyed
through song and word during the
worship service. Miss Merle
Wilson, convener of the com-
mittee in charge, opened the
meeting with the call to worship
and carols were -interspersed
throughout the devotions.
Miss Wilson introduced the
worship service built around the
theme, "-No Richer Gift", stating
that- "We give gifts at Christmas-
time to commemorate God's
great gift ta- us, tlis \ Son Jesus'
Christ." By means of a candle-
lighting ceremony some of the
gifts God gives to each of us were
studied, accompanied by ap-
protpriate Bible passages.
Mrs. Ed Beard spoke of the gift
of strength, stressing that "with .
any situation where we need help
and guidance, God gives us His
strength and increases our own
strength."
The gift of hope was discussed
by Mrs. Harry Bateman who, as
part of her talk, stated that "the
Christian's hope is based on the

birth, life, death and resurrection
of Christ."
As Mrs. Jiro Wilson spoke of -
the gift of peace; she quoted the
scripture, "Peace I leave with
you, My Peace I give to you." She
spoke of -the need for witnessing,
as "we need• to tell the world the
good news of the coming of the
Prince of, Peace."
Mrs. Janet Hall said "God
gives us the gift of love." "God
,shows His love for mankind in
many ways," she said, "His
greatest gift of love is His Son."
Mrs. Harold Brooks spoke ' ilii
God's gift of brotherhood. -
The New Testament tells of the
spontaneous gift of precious oint-
ment with which the woman
anointed Jesus' feet; the unex-
pected gift of care and provision
that was shown' by • the good
Samaritan; the disciplined gift of
the Widow's mite.
The hymn, "Love Came Down
at Christmas was,read followed
by a group of carols.
Mrs. Nixon and "Mrs. Campbell
conducted the business portion of
the.`meeting and reports of .the
year's business were adopted.
Mrs. Beard -gave the offertory
prayer and Mrs. Hall closed with
prayer.
