As Mr. James Neil of McGillivray, was.
driving into Mooresville on Monday last,
he undertook to run. by another buggy
driven by Mr. Richard Neil of Centralia.
He however upset himself into the ditch!'
rind now lies in a critical condition from,
the effects of his fall. It should be a los-
son to him in the future. It was five
hours before he conld speak. -Jos. Abbott

resident of:Emmett, Mach., buried Itis
infant son at Nursary cemetery, Moores-
ville on Tuesday, 24thinst.-Thos. Abbott
of Biddulph, buried his infant son on
Sunday last at the same place. -Thomas
Morkin of Biddulph, buried his infant son
on Saturday last. -There has not been so
mach fall wheat as formerly sown here
owing no doubt to the very dry spell of
weather making it impossible to plough
soon enough.

RonT. MOCoY.-As has been before.
stated, Robt McCoy, whose death occurred
on the 13ti must., was born in the county
of Tyrone, North of Ireland in the year
1817, and with his mother and family of
eight children (his father havingpreviously
died) immigrated to Canada in the month
of June. They sailed for Quebec in a
small vessel and when reaching the Island
"Cape Britain" the vessel, which carried
500 passengers. besides 22 sailors, was
wrecked, and it was with great difficulty
that all escaped barely with their lives.
The McCoys lost everything. The de-
ceased first settled in the township of
Darlington, where he remained for ten
years, when he with the remainder of the
family moved to the tp of Stephen, where
he resided until time of death a space of
40 years The township was a compera•
tive wilderness, but with liarcl work,
diligence and ecouomy the deceased
together with his brother Samuel succeed-
ed in acoumulating a g000dly share of this
