SOMETHING NEW
AT E.OWICK,
On Thursday,. Nov 21, a group
of actors from the Huron Country .'
Playhouse carneto Howick
Central School to perform a play
entitled, "My Best Friend is
Twelve Feet Tall". There ~Were.
five actors in au . and judging
from the thunderous response
they did very well. The show'
lasted for about an hour and ten
minutes and students were
allowed to ask questions after-
wards. They had practised for a
week and all . studied acting,
before. The performance itself
was very humerous and poetry
turned into songs made_ in-
teresting. ,
Folloiking the performatice the
nq- a0oE4i4cterl nve workshops
with a similar numberofgroups
of Gr. 3 and 4 students. The actors
had the students act out different
situations, discussed many
aspects of acting and using the
imagination. We hope the time
spent with these students helped
improve their ability to drama-
tize. .
We all wish that they could
come back again for everyone
enjoyed it very much,,

MUSIC NIGHT
AT LISTOWEL
On Tuesday, November 26 the
boys and girls Senior Choir of
Howick attended the Listowel
District Secondary School for
their annual music night. The
students left on two bus t 7:15
and returned betwee 0: I I : nd
10:15. We were honored to sing
this event although many o ' s
were a bit nervous about tting
up and singing ' in front of ap-
proximately 500 people. We felt
we were ready however, for this
challenge. We would like to thank

SCHOOL SKIM PINS,
This year Mr, a Livermore.
the Spprts Club decided,tq:
In to help increase the r
spirit. The pins are round, _
in color, with gold lettering and k ,.
goldenhawk m the middle. The
slogan is "Golden Hawks•'Fly tar

think the pins have helped ' the
school spirit because almost 200
students are wearing these pins.
If you see achild with one of these
pins on you will know he or she
goes to Howick . Central School
and is proud of it!

FAIR MONEY
The fair money was given. to.
each student who won prizes at
the annual Howick Fall Fair. The
highest amounts of money were
awarded to Donald Hislop, Vivid
McCaughan and Karen Mc-
Michael. Most of the students
who entered material in the fair
did win a prize.
I am sure Mr. Robertson is
pleased with the effort given by
the students. We had more
response to fair materials getting ,
in than usual.
