Last week Highway 86 from Wingham to Lucknow received a generous coating of hardtop and the village street and inter- sections were widened which makes much better road for the cars. On Thursday last Mrs. Wallace Milligan received wend that her brother, Alexander Ladner had passed away suddenly due to a heart attack at Sarnia where he had resided for 23 years. He leaves his wife and three son; his father and three slaters living in Prince Edward Island and five sisters and three brother* to Ontario. This was the first break in a family of 12. The funeral was held in Prince Edward Island. Visitors last week with Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Schultz were her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harding, Kitchener, and their daughter, Mrs. Ton McMullen, Mr. McMullen, Ricky and Thomas of St. Catharines. On Sunday their son, Elmer Schultz, Mrs. Schultz, Gregory and Elwin joined the other relatives and celebrated three birthdays. Present for the oc- casion were Mr. and Mrs. Moans, Don Mosa and friend of Platt - with; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Moss and Vicki of Petrolia; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mcclenaghan, Waterloo; Michael McClenaaghan and Judy Elllsworth of Hamilton; Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Mc- Clena,ghan, Nancy and friend of St. Thomas; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Parker and Steven of Exeter; Mr. and Mrs. John Parker, London; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Parker, Huron Park. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Robinson of Belgrave were Sunday visitors with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Visitors on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. ',Robert Mowbray were Mr. and Mrs. Hector 'urden and Raymond and her 'mother, Mrs. House of Strathroy; Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconer, Lynn and Paul of Sarnia. They also visited with her mother, Mrs. Stacey of Wingham. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin were Friday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne McAllister of Culross. On Thursday last Mr. and Mrs. Fisher of Chatham were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mowbray. Mrs. Doris Leeson of Nanailro, B.C., was brought by Mr. and Mrs. Melvin McClenaghaan, Kitchener, to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Me- Clenaghan on Monday last. An invitation from Wingham Institute has been received and after President Miss Merle Wilson consulted the executive it was decided to accept the in- vitation for Oct. 9 at 8:30 in the Wingham town halt. Mr. and Mrs. John Willis and family were Suzy callers on Mrs. Earl Caslick. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Albert Coultes is a patient in Winghain and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Schwich- tenberg, Lori and Kerry of Port Elgin were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Craig and her father, Albert Coultes and with her mother, a patient at Winghain Hospital.
