(Staff Photo) Notes from Whitechurch Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan, Mary Lou and Clara spent the weekend in Streetsville with the former's daughter, Mrs. Pat Donnelly, Mr. Donnelly and Angela and their other, daughter, Mrs. Craig, Mr. Craig and David. On Friday evening they attended the wedding of her nephew at Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Laidlaw of London visited Friday with his brother, Elroy Laidlaw, and Mrs. Laidlaw. , Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor and Russel Ross visited on Sunday with Mrs. Russel Ross, a patient at St. Mary's Hospital, Kit- chener. On Sunday afternoon White- churtCh Junior ball team played Port 'Stanley team at Lucknow for O.A.S.A. Port Stanley boys were the winners. Each team has won one game. Another game has to be played to declare a winner. Walter Moore, as a member of Brophy's slow pitch team, was at Mitchell for a game where Mitchell team was the winner. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Des Roches and family were Mr. ,and Mrs. Bill Norris, Paul and Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lattimer all of Woodstock and brothers, Cleo and Remi Des Roches of Penetang. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cardiff of Brussels were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Miller of Goderich were weekend visitors with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coultes. Miss Mildred McClenaghan, Reg. N., was able to resume her duties at Goderich Hospital last week. Miss Joari Tiffin visited on Wednesday last with Mrs. Mary Weber of Mildmay. On Wednesday last Mrs. Russel Ross was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital at Kitchener. The community wishes her a speedy • recovery. Miss 'Jane Laidlaw of London spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy. Laidlaw. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul on Sunday were assisting at the Open House at the Stiles Funeral Home, Goderich, and little Steven visited with his grand- parents, Mr. - and Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Mrs. Ted Robinson and Mrs. Gershom Johnston were in Kitchener on Wednesday where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Robinson. Miss Carol Farrier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carman Farrier, has entered Queen's University, Kingston, and her sister, Colleen, is at the Toronto University, majoring in music. One game was played in the morning and then a pot luck lunch was enjoyed, Two games were played in the afternoon and Mrs. Rena Fisher, president, presented the trophy and first prize to the winners, Mrs. Wilma Kerr, skip, and Mrs. Audrey MacKay, lead, with three wins and a plus of 51 and overplus of eight. 1 The, other prize winners were: second;��l�Vlrs. WALKERTON MAN RELEASED There was rejoicing in a couple of Walkerton homes last week when news came that Clifford James of that town, who has been a prisoner of rebel forces in Erit- been released. The man was taken prisoner, along with another Canadian and an American when their helicopter was forced down during an oil exploration flight. Mr. James' wife and parents reside in Walkerton. Higgins conducts worship BELGRAVE — The regular meeting of the evening unit of the United Church Women was held September 3 in the church base- ment with 17 present. Mrs. Ross Higgins was in charge of the wor- ship and had as her theme, "We need to place first things first and keep them there”. "When Morning Gilds the Skies" was sung followed by a psalm read in unison. Mrs. James Coultes read the scripture lesson and mediation was given by Mrs. Ross Higgins, "Where Does Time Go?" Mrs. William Coultes read an item, "Television Is a Time Con- sumer". A hyam was sung and Mrs. Ross Higgins closed the worship service with prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Mrs. Laura Johnston conducted the business. It was decided, to cater to a wedding anniversary on September 22. A committee was then named to make further arrangements. The offering was received and dedicated by Mrs. \Laura John- , ston. Mrs. Murray Lougheed called on Mrs. John Roberts to tell of her recent trip to Wales. Mrs. Ftoberts gave a Very in- teresting and detailed account of her trip and also showed some souvenirs. Mrs. William Stevenson sang 'two solos.
