Tuesday, September 10,
George Rintoul, in his 76th
year. He was born in White-
church, son of the late Mar-
garet Mowbray and Henry Rin-
toul, brother of the late Henry
Rintoul and Ano •McNevin of
Wingham. He is survived by
one son, Gordon, of Pontiac,
Michigan; and one daughter,
Mrs. Maurice (Pauline)
Stoughton of Allen Park, Michi-
gan. Mrs. W. Lott, Patrick
Street, Wingham, is a niece.
The late Mr. Rintoul was a vet-
eran of World War I and for
several years was Post Com-
mander of the Canadian Legion
in Detroit.

Palmerston General Hospital on
Thursday; September 12, in his
71st year.
He was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. George Topham of
Howick Township.
Mr. Topham was a member of
the Fordwich United Church and
L.O.L. 775 of Newbridge.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Isabel Foster of Ford-
wich; a daughter, Mrs. Paul
(Mary Elizabeth) Semis of
Drayton; a grandson, David
William Samis; a sister, Mrs.
Harper (Alveretta) Wood of
Mitchell. He was predeceaked by
one son, Gordon.
Funeral service was held from
Moir Funeral Home, Gorrie, on
Sept. 14. Interment Fordwich
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Spence
Brears, Earl Moore, Ernie
D'Arcey, Alex Reid, Percy and
Wellington Hargrave.
