Funeral service was held at
11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sep-
tember 7; at the S. J.: Walker
° Funeral Home, • Wingham, for
Earl Anderson of RR 4, Brussels,
who passed away Wednesday
September 4,. at Victoria
Hospital, London.. Rev. John
Roberts was the officiating
clergyman .. and interment
followed in Brandon Cemetery,
Belgrave.
Pallbearers were Willard
Armstrong, George Michie, Ross
Anderson, Lloyd Anderson,
Donald McArter and Bill
McArter. Glen VanCamp and Leo
Sanders carried floral tributes.
Mr. Anderson was 75 years of
age and death followed a ' brief
illness. Born in North Dakota,
U.S.A., he was a son of the late
James Anderson and Mary
Sproat. He came to Wingham in
1906 and was edticated at the
Ike Rann dies
in 68th year
A well-known resident of the
village of Brussels, David Alkin
(Ike) Rann, died... in Victoria
Hospital, London, on Thursday,
September 5, in his 68th year.
Mr. Rann was born and
educated in Wroxeter and was a
licensed funeral director,
operating the Rann Funeral
Home in Brussels for many
years. He retired five years ago.
He was a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Dick Rann.
He was a member of the
Brussels Unitedl Church, the
Lions Club, St. J+ hn's Masonic
Lodge, ' AF and AM No. 284,
Brussels, and the Western Star
IOOF No. 249, Brussels.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Aletha Pearl Hopper; one
daughter, Mrs. Jack (Jane) Hall
of Brussels and one son, Robert of
Cambridge (Galt). Also sur-
viving are eight grandchildren
and one sister, Mars. William A.
(Alma) Spence of Toronto. He
was predeceased by one son,
William, in 1953, and one brother,
Edwin, in 1937.
Funeral service was held
Saturday at Watts' Funeral
Horne, Brussels, Rev. Eric
LeDrew officiating, assisted by
Rev. Alan Johnston of London.
Interment followed in Brussels
Cemetery.
Wingham Public School and S.S.
No. 5, Morris. He was a 1926
graduate of Queen's University
and served as .a student
missionary in Western .Canada.
In later years he farmed,' retiring
several years ago- •
The late Mr. Anderson was a
member of Knox United Church,
Belgrave, where he was Sunday
School superintendent and clerk
of session. He also served ' as
Secretary -treasurer for the
Federation of Agriculture.
. Surviving are his wife, the
former Sara Young, whom he
married in Westport,'Ontario, in
1928; four daughters, Mrs. Ted
(Patsy) flunking of Auburn, Mrs.
Wilfred (Audrey) Schreiber of
Milton, Mrs. Ed (Muriel) Hartlin
'of Kingston and Mrs. Thomas
(Karen) May of Mississauga;
two sons', James of • Guelph and
Keith of Rexdale; and 18 grand-
children. He is also survived by
two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Burke of
Orangeville and Mrs. Nellie
McArter of Brussels.
He was predeceased by two
brothers, Alex and Jack.
Geo. S. King,
Gorrie native
George Samuel King died
Sunday, September 8, at
Huronview. He was the son of the
late Charles King and his wife,
the former Hannah Willis. Mr.
King was born in Gorrie on July
26, 1891.
He had been in the tinsmithing
and plumbing business and was a
member of St. Stephen's Angli-
can Church, Gorrie.
He was predeceased by his
wife, the former Agnes McEl-
wain, on May 4, 1974. Surviving is
one son Harold of Gorrie.
Funeral service was held at the
Moir Funeral Home, Gorrie; on
Tuesday at two o'clock, con-
ducted by Rev. Hairy Jennings of
Wroxeter.' Pallbearers were
Beverley Currah, John Bennett,
Thomas Ash, Chester Bennett,
Hector Hamilton and Ivan
Haskins.
Interment was in Gorrie
Cemetery.
