London became husband and
wife in a double -ring' ceremony
solemnized by Rev. John G.
Roberts in Belgrave United
Church on Saturday, July 20, at 4
o'clock.
The bride's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth H. Wheeler of
Belgrave and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent
Makas of Strathroy. Bouquets of
white mums and blue tapers in
candelabra adorned the church
sanctuary. As guests entered the
church, a blue and white
arrangement of mums and
gladioli enhanced the entrance.
The wedding party entered the
church to the strains of "Praise
My Soul, The King of Heaven",
played by organist Mrs. Linda
Lentz. During the ceremony,
Miss Carole Warren sang "He",
The Wedding Benediction and
"More".
Preceding the bride down the
aisle were her attendants, maid
of honor Margaret McLaughlin of
Wingham, friend of the bride;
bridesmaids, Jan Ainslie, friend
of the bride, of Goderich, and
Mrs. Darlene Smith, sister of the
groom, of Sudbury; and flower
girl Kathy Gage of London. They
were gowned alike in floor -length
dresses of eggshell crepe with

hats with navy trim. The senior
attendants carried nosegays Qf
red. white and blue mums and
baby's breath. The flower girl
carried a basket of matching
flowers.
The bride entered the church
on the arm of her father who gave
her in marriage. She wore a
white polyester satin loose -fitting
gown with jewel neckline, inset
neckband with jewel trim, em-
pire front bodice with gathered
front skirt, flared back with a
slight train and long lily -pointed
sleeves with jewel trim. A white
satin rose headpiece held her full-
length two-tiered veil with
French lace trim and she carried
a cascade of miniature red roses
and baby's breath.
Gerry Norris, friend of the
groom, of Strathroy, was best
man and ushering guests were
the bride's brother, Ivan Wheeler
of Stratford, and Victor
Weitendorf, friend of the groom,
of London. Robbie Gage of
London was ring bearer.
The male members of the
wedding party wore navy Prince
Albert tuxedos with white shirts,
ruffled with blue edging, and
black velvet bow ties.
White and blue streamers and
bells decorated the Belgrave
Institute Hall for the reception
which followed. The tables were
adorned with red, white and, blue
candles and carnations and the
bride's table -was centered with a
three -tiered cake.
Receiving guests from Car-
sonville, Michigan, Goderich,
Clinton, Blyth, Wingham, Sud-
bury, Strathroy and London, the
bride's mother wore a floor -
length long-sleeved gown of -aqua
chiffon over organza. Completing
her ensemble were ,white ac-
cessories and a corsage of pini
and white carnations with baby's
breath. The groom's mother
chose a two-piece gown of delight
blue fortrel with white ac-
cessories and a corsage of white
and blue carnations.
For travelling to Ottawa, the
bride donned a two-piece pink
palazzo pantsuit with smocked
jacket and pink and white
flowered halter top. On their
return they will reside at 187
Tecumseh Street East, London.
Both the bride and groom. are
graduates of Fanshawe College.
The bride is a law clerk with the
firm of Laing, Peterson and
Arnold, St. Thomas, and the
groom is a production control co-
ordinator with Ex -Cello Cor-
poration of London. •
Honored guests at their
granddaughter's wedding were
Mrs. Herb Wheeler and C. R.
Coultes.
Bauer - Kelley vows
An evening-weddingwas
solemnized in Wallace 'United
Church on Friday, July 19, when
Rev. Delmar Martin united in
marriage Brenda Anne Kelley
and Royce Wayne. Bauer.
:The bride is the daughter. of Mr.
and Mrs, Melvin Kelley of RR 3,
Listowel, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Reinhardt
Bauer of Brussels.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore' a dress of
White..silk organza fashioned on
ernpir,e, lil}ea, „The: ice; which
featured a smallbod
V-sfiaped yoke
of pin striped organza, was
outlined with a wide ruffle of
Belgium re -embroidered lace.
Similar trim was used at the
waistline, collar, and long cuffs,
and.. to give the layered look, hi
the long full sleeves. The full skirt
had wide bands of matching lace
and her chapel train was • also
edged in similar trim. „Her head-
piece of organza flowers and
pearls secured a shoulder -length
veil of tulle illusion. She carried a
cascade of yellow roses. '
Matron of honor was.her sister
Mrs. Sheila Brown of Barrie.
Bridesmaids were Miss Theresa
O'Grady of Stratford, Miss
Valerie Kelley of RR 3„ Listowel,
sister of the bride, and Miss
Cheryl Bauer of Brussels, sister
of the groom.
Their long gowns of flowered
challis were styled with square
necklines, short puffed sleeves
and full ruffled'skirts. They wore
large white hats and carried
baskets of white daisies and
yellow button mums.
Flower girl was Miss Lorrie
Robinson of St. Catharines, niece
the groom. She wore a dress
similar to those of the other at-
tendants.
The best roan was Earl
Campbell of RR . 3, Moorefield.
Ushers were Darrell Bauer of
Brussels, brother of the groom;
Douglas Bauer of Brussels,
brother of the groom ; and
Michael Kelley. of Stratford,
brother of the -bride.
Ring -bearer was Master
Michael Fox of New Hamburg,
nephew of the groom: -
At a reception held.at "Club 86"
the bride's .mother received the
guests in a floor -length gown of
heavenly blue crimplene, with
matching long sleeved bolero
jacket. She had white accessories
and • wore a corsage of pink.
Sweetheart roses.
. She was assisted by the
groom's mother wearing a floor -
length gown of violet. peau . de
soie. She also had white ac-
cessories and wore a corsage of
yellow 'Sweetheart roses.
For her wedding trip the bride
wore a street4ength dress of dark
green polyester trimmed with
ivory coloured lace. She wore a
yellow. tiger orchid corsage.
Guests included relatives. and
friends from Listowel; Brussels,
Stratford, Mitchell, St.
Catharines, New Hamburg,
Drayton, Acton, Durham,
Elmira, Elmvale, Barrie, Vic-
toria, B.0.., '-and the* immediate
surrounding district, •
The couple will reside in Owen
Sound.

Minister urges
members to build
sure foundations
WHITECHURCH Lawrence
King spoke of the importance of
building sure foundations when
he delivered the sermon at the.
morning worship service in ,th
United Church here on Sunday.
The church was decorated with
summer flowers for the service.
Mr. King read scriptures from
the first letter to the Corinthians.
He referred to the parable which
Jesus told about auilt on a
strong foundationh� able to
withstand any attack,: while
others built on poor foundation
fall and crumble.: He. said,
"People should make. Christ their
sure foundation for - their
lives. The 'Church's foundation -is.
only as strong -as the individual
member's foundation." •
In closing, the speaker said;
"How is your foundation in Jesus
-Christ? Have you faith in Ilim? If
not, it is never to * late to '
reconstruct your fopndation and
make sure it is strong."
A choir of six girls sang "Joy Is
Like the Rain". Garnet Farrier
and Mr. King played a saxaphone
duet, "Bless This House", ac-
companied by Mrs. Farrier.
