CBC Radio offers fine variety
all year round and this summer,
they invite you to tune in,
Wednesday evenings at 10:30, to
some laughs and entertainment,
on "Travels With Aunt Jane".
The comedy will run for 12 -weeks
which will take it to the end of
September. .
The 'Aunt Jane' is Jane Mallett
who is just about one of our most
talented character and comedy
actresses. The name may not
ring aeb'ell but you have seen her,
in the finest CBC dramas, in
television comedy, maybe if
you're lucky, on stage, and most
by Venni Lee
probably in television com-
mercials • where she buys a
package of Tums, or collects long
distance phone calls in .the
Trans -Canada Telephone com-
mercials. She was at the ACTRA
Awards show in the winter, too,
giving a lovely speech honoring
the memory of Andrew Alan, one

and always' is a joy to watch or
hear, a charming little lady
whose sweet little face you can't
help but love.
Mrs. Mallett has spent 40 years
at her profession, in radio, tele
.vision, the stage and the film. She
was on the first network radio
show in 1930, has -been a very
significant part of the daytime
soap - operas, entertained in
wartime -shows and, during the
50s,, starred in her own show
which was written, by the way,
by Frank Peppihtt and John
Aylesworth who are now Holly-
wood stars and responsible for
many U.S. variety and comedy'
shows. She starred on stage in
Canada's first stage revue,
"Spring. Thaw" and last year she
