Jr. Farmers
tohold 25 -yr.
reunion dance
1974 marks 25 years of. the
County Junior Farmer Associa-
tion in Huron. Many Junior
Farkner Clubs have existed in
Huron as far back as 1920 and are
still going strong today.
In 1949 the South Huron,
Clinton, Colwanash, Howick and
North Huron Clubs felt a need for
a county organization. Since the
birth of the'Huron County Junior
Farmers, activities and projects
among the various clubs have
flourished. Their motto, "Self
Help and Community Bet-
terment", has always been the
thought behind each project un-
dertaken by Huron Junior Farm-
ers. Even before the county
organization was established the
young people'upheld these ideals.
In an attempt to celebrate 25
years for the county organiza-
tion, the Junior Farmers are
planning to hold a reunion and
dance to commemorate the occa-
sion. The reunion will take the
form of a dance and smorgasbord
on July 26th, in the Seaforth
Arena. Past and present mem-
bers interested in participating at
this event are asked to contact
Len McGregor at the Agricultur-
al Office in Clinton.

A silver collectionwill be taken
during the contest with the
proceeds to assist the Association
in its continuing work with the
mentally retarded from the
district including Wingham,
Brussels, Blyth, Belmore,
Belgrave, Bluevale, Wroxeter,
Gorrie, Teeswater, Whitechurch
and Lucknow:
The CKNX Try Hards play in
anybody's league andhave been
in a number of exhibition games
this season throughout their
broadcast area. Brophy's Good -
years have a successful win 11,
lost six record in their first year
in the WOAA Slow Pitch Softball
League.
Slow pitch ball is exciting to
watch with ten players on a team
and pitchers required to deliver
slow pitches so every batter hits
the ball. The game is expected to
go a regulation nine innings
following most of the rules
xf15 t 4O
although there is no guarantee
against some exceptions.
The Wingham Association,
primarily through the efforts of
its Youth Across Canada With
The Mentally Retarded (YAC -
MR) group is working hard to
promote a good attendance at
this fun contest in the hope of
raising money - for a worthy
cause.
You can help by simply coming
out to enjoy a ,good ball game.
