The final seore in the game was Fergus 13, Winghanl2 While the Novices were soundly defeated the Fergus PeeWees let loose a blitskreig on the Wingham PeeWees and routed them - by -a '21-0 score. The last Wingham goal was scored unassisted by Jay Mac- Laurin with 10 minutes to play in :the final frame. Fergus managed "only three goals in the last period and the game ended in au 114 loss for Wingham, ' The Bantam floss to Fergus brought out a recurring fault that seems to show up in the -boys' play. 'hat flaw •is an almost inevitable second period scoring drought. If you drop the ,Fergus or any other team's second period scoring the games become much closer. This continual fail- ure to get on the score sheet in period 2 has cost the boys games. It's about time the coaches took a look at the problem. This camp is open to any girls, age 12 and over who are interested in playing basketball. and improving their skill, ecamp is located at .,u - ,,,e former Cen- r.s`i ase ' The Huron Park camp will fee- ' turd` highly qualified instructors. Dr. Sue Higgs, the well known golfer from London, is camp director. Sue is currently assis- tant professor and basketball coach ' at the University of Regina. Marg Curry, da high school teacher and coach from Swift Current, Saskatchewan and a member of Canada's national basketball team for many years, will add her expertise to the in- structional staff. Cookie Leach of Windsor, and Jane Peckman of London will also serve as instruc- tors. Both are presently high school teachers and formerly intercollegiate players: The camp program features the teaching of the fundamentals of basketball and girls may at- tend fir a one, two, or three week period. The first session begins -July 28; the second, August 4th ; and the third, August 11th. Girls of all skill levels, begin- ners through advanced, are urg- ed to attend, as campers will be grouped and instruction modified to the appropriate level of skill. Any girls age 12, through college, age are welcome.
