stitutes take steps to have the use
of staples abandoned from the
packaging of food products.
2. Whereas a local chain store
advertised fish on a special, but
the fish was unfrozen on the
counter, whereas we are con-
cerned as to it being, harmful to
refreeze fish and meats after
they have been thawed, therefore
be it resolved that these packages
of food that have been frozen and
thawed should have some sort of
warning so that people do not put
this food again in the freezer.
These two resolutions were
carried and will be sent on to
Area WI's. They were sent in by
Tiger Dunlop WI which also sent
a resolution asking for road signs
telling about the hidden intersec-
tion where the road to Meneset
and airport meet Highway 21.
Murray Gaunt, MPP, has ad-
vised them that action is being
taken to erect the proper signs.

the bursary for another year and

accepted. Mrs. Gordan Papple

Sr. Citizens plan picnic.
FORDWICH—The Senior citi-
zens held' their June meeting in
the Fordwich. Community Hall.
There were 50 present. It was
decided to have a summer
meeting in the form of a picnic on
July 27, at 4:30 p.m. in the Ford-
wich Park.
The ladies, under direction .of
Mrs. William Wilson, plan to
make a fancy quilt and sell
tickets, quilt tobe .qn displ at
the Howick Agricultural Pair.
The men are working on the reno-
vations at the community hall
having almost completed the
panelling.
After the business, Robert
Connell M.C.'d the program
'which took the form of 'a miscell-
aneous program much enjoyed
by all. Austin • Stinson led in
community singing. and sang two
solos, "Bells of St. Mary's" and
"Lucky Jim". Mrs. Florence
Wilson gave a reading, "Philo-
sophy of Advancing Age" and
Miss L. Beswitherick read a
selection about a "Time for
Lilacs and "Things Were Going
to the Dogs". '
Ted . and Elfriede Klaassen
sang and played some German
songs and Mr. Forrest played a
number of selections on his con-
certina. Meeting closed with Mrs.
K. Graham and' Mrs. 'Halliday
singing "It's Jesus and Me" and
"Just a Closer, Walk with God".
ALL AROUND CORD
Miss Yvonne Welsh, 13, daugh-
ter of Mr, and Mrs. John R.
Welsh, Base Borden, grand-
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wray
Cooper, Fordwich received her
"All Around Cord", on June 5 at a
special ceremony held in Base
Borden. The "All Around Cord"
is the secondhighest award
obtainable in Girl Guides. Yvonne
is an active Girl Guide and is the
holder of 25 badges and three
emblems.
