Anyone for
38 and- over
slow pitch ball?
Based on the early season suc-
cess of the Brophy Bros. Tire
entry this year in WOAA slow
pitch softball, (the locals have
won three and lost one) Manager
Ed Bauer has put out a call for 38 -
year -old and over players.
"If we can get enough fellows
38 and over out, we'll form a sec-
ond ball club, a sort of Wingham
'senior' slow pitch outfit since the
Brophy Juniors at 31 and over are
now surprising a lot of folks in-
cluding themselves," said Bauer.
All former diamond hotshots
who have been eating their hearts
out while the upstart Brophy out-
fit have torn both the ball and
their muscles in cutting a swath
through their 31 and over league,
are asked to contact Bauer at 357-
3805, Ivan Gardner at 357-1060 or
Earl Young at 357-1940. Let them
know you have your glove out and
are ready to play.
"If we hear from enough
fellows who can prove they are 38
or more and won't get too sore,
we'll organize a team right
smartly, to play against willing
38 and over fellows from the other
'Junior' league towns," added
It's wonderful to See how much
better you can get around with a
cold at a party than at the office.
