Mrs. Hank Bos read the scripture. Mrs. William Mulvey led in prayer. Mrs. John Moffat read a very interesting article on the late Duke Ellington and his thoughts about death and the Bible and how his religion affected his music. Mrs. Murray Mulvey con- cluded the study book on India by a crossword puzzle, which was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Doubledee closed the meeting with a lunch. --Some local residents at- tended the Sunday School anni- versary and flower service held in Gorrie United Church on Sun- day morning. The dress featured a hi lace collar with a lace -edged inset of chiffon trimmed with 1 daisies and tiny white butto Tiers of lace adorned the fitt upper sleeves, long narrow c and encircled the skirt. A ba bow held her detachable tra which was also trimmed wi lace. A pearl and floral headpi held her cathedral length veil a she carried a bouquet of d pink roses, baby's breath an fern. Maid of honor was Miss Mel anie Sexsmith of Toronto. Sh wore a floor -length empire -style gown designed with round nec line and long full sleeves gathe into buttoned cuffs. A wide ruffle trimmed the hemline, wi a smaller ruffle around the nec line. A delicate shade of pink sat peau formed the .underdress an was completely overlaid wi white sheer flocked with pink blue, • mauve, yellow and gree flowers. A white floppy -brims hat completed her ensemble. In similar attire were th bridesmaids, Erla Robbins o Bancroft, Sandra Zwygart an Kathy Davies of Mississauga, i shades of yellow, mauve an green. All carried baskets o white daisies with baby's breath tinted to match their dresses, an matching streamers. The junior bridesmaids, Car Zwygart and Brenda Capi, Mississauga and Agincourt res pectively, wore floor-lengt gowns of pastel blue in simila material but styled. with hi neckline and leg o' inutto sleeves. The.neckline and sleeve were trjmmed with lace and navy velvet ribbon encircl each empire waistline and tied i a bow at the back. They wor small white hats and carri miniature baskets of white dais ies and baby's breath, with blu ribbon. Ole Nielsen of Resolute Bay Northwest Territories, was the best man and senior ushers were Mark Wilson of Toronto, Dean Robbins of Bancroft and Gerry Davies .of Windsor. They wore black squaretail suits with dickies to match the colors of the attendants' dresses. Junior ushers, Darryl and Don- ald Robbins of Bancroft, wore navy suits, light blue shirts, blue and navy bow ties. A reception followed at the Bancroft Legion Hall where guests were received by the mothers of the bridal couple. The bride's mother wore a floor - length gown of pastel pink polyester with empire waistline and long sleeves. The bodice and an inverted front pleat were trimmed with lace and "satin flowers in a deeper shade of pink. She wore white accessories and a corsage of deep pink sweetheart roses. The groom's mother chose a floor -length gown of pale green with empire waistline, square neckline and leg o' mutton sleeves. A front bib effect was trimmed with lace. White ac- cessories and a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses completed her ensemble. rbr travelling to Barbados, West Indies, the bride wore a shrimp colored crepe culotte - type dress with a corsage of white carnations and white acces- sories. They are residing in Wingham. The bride-to-be was seated in a chair with yellow and white bells and streamers hanging from above her. The evening was spent with everyone enjoying contests and games, after which her youngest sister, Barbara, presented Shirley with her gifts from a gaily decorated wheelbarrow also in yellow and white colors. She was assisted in opening her gifts by Mrs. Dave Thompson. The bride -elect thanked every= one and lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Williard Peel. MISS M. COOKE, Reg. N., and Mrs. M. Skinn, RNA, were on hand to receive a presenta- tion from George Cameron last Thursday afternoon. In appreciation for the kind treat- ment Mr. Cameron received. when he was in hospital recently, he presented the hospital with a plaque bearing a poem, outlining what a nurse is.. The plaque will be hung near the nurses' station on the second floor of Wingham and District Hospital. George Sach of Corrie officiating. The bride is thedaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Galloway of Gorrie and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Heinmiller of RR 1, Gowanstown. The couple will reside in Kitchener. The bride wore a nylon, dotted Swiss gown, with rounded neckline, cape sleeves and chapel train, all trimmed with a delicate lace. Her headpiece was a colonial style with beaded seed pearls and attached to a long flowing veil • of delicate tulle edged with a fine lace. The bouquet was a cascade of pink roses, rose buds and white car- nations. The attendants wore dotted Swiss, floor -length dresses in an array of spring colors. The dresses were an A-line style with empire waists and puffed sleeves, trimmed with white em- broidered lace. The matron of honor, Mrs. Donald Templeman of Gorrie, wore lilac while bridesmaids, Mrs. Thomas Templeman and —Mrs. Gershom Johnston and George Grigg visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Reg Peacock and family of Thornton, Mrs. Mary Pressick of Painswick and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Elliott and family of Hillsdale. —Miss Agnes Williamson visited on Sunday with Mrs. K. B. Arnott and Margie of Geraldton at •the home of Mrs. James N. Corry of Listowel. —Weekend visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Estey of Guelph and Mr. and Mrs. Carman Machan of Water- loo. —More than 20 music pupils of Mrs. Harry 'Lear presented .a recital in Londesboro United Church Wednesday evening of last week. Pupils from Grade I to VIII delivered sparkling varia- tions of works " by Bach, Beethoven, Handel and Schumann, in addition to com- positions by contemporary 'writers. Those participating from Wingham were Karen Wood, April, Moore, Karyn. Mann and Rdth Taylor (Grade 'II); Pam Gerrie, Janet Wood, 'Jim Laid- law, Ian Mann and Bruce Stain- ton (Grade V) ; Sylvia Beard and Joanne Wood (Grade VII) . A guest instrumental group, Anne Campbell, .Debbie Hanula, Stephen Burke, Pam Gerrie and Ian Mann, also performed two numbers: •FORDWICH III The Fordwich III 4-H club met Tuesday evening of last week at the home of Mrs. Carl D'Arcey. Roll call was taken and the minutes were read. Miss Linda Angst, a hairdresser from Clif- ford, discussed the different styles of hair do'sand the style to suit the shape of one's face. Mrs. Robert Templeman both of Gorrie, wore spring green and rose pink. The junior bridesmaid, Miss Barbara Templeman of Gorrie, wore a daffodil yellow dress in a style similar to the other bridesmaids. They carried white baskets filled with a color- ful assortment of flowers and baby's breath. The bride's mother wore a floor length, turquoise flowered chiffon dress featuring long - sleeves with a pink rose corsage. The goom's mother wore a blue and pink polyester dress with a matching overjacket and a white rose corsage. A reception followed the ceremony at Clifford Community Centre. Guests were present from Windsor, Simcoe, London, Kitchener, Guelph, Owen Sound, New Market, Wingham, Listowel and Palmerston. The bride, on goii,g away, wore a green and white hounds tooth pant suit with a yellow rose corsage. The couple left to travel the east coast and return home through the -,States. • Showers were given by Mrs. Mabel. Henry of town attended an alumni dinner for gradwites of the Guelph General 11%401 Training SOPA, held at the Hotel, Kitchener, last Friday. s is the last such dinner to be held as the training school is being discontinued, this year. Miss Henry was the only member of her class to attend the dinner. She graduated 60 years ago, in 1914. One member of the 1912 graduating class was also, in attendance. About 440 graduates attended the dinner. • Miss Henry spent most of her nursing career in New York. She was in the Army from 1917 to 1919. She retired in 1961. —Mrs. Clayton Baird was ac- cepted into the fellowship of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at special communion service Sunday morning: Rev. R. H.
