W. accepts gravel tender, The Township of East Wa- wanosh decided at its last meet- ing, March 5, to accept the gravel tender submitted by Joe Kerr Ltd. of Wingham. The Wingham company will supply, crush and deliver approximately 12,000 cubic yards of five eighth inch gray for the township at a cost of $1 a cubic yard. Thei decision to accept.the ten- der is subject to approval by the Ministry of Transportation and COrnnlunications. The council also discussed in- surance during their meeting. In another motion it was decided that a recommendation should be made to the Belgrave Arena Board to increase the insurance on the arena to at least $45,000. Council adopted the auditor's report from A. M. Harper and Co. and passed a motion that the aud- itor's fees, which amount to $1,350, be paid. A motion was presented and passed which in- structed the roads superin- tendent to attend' the Ontario Good Roads School in Guelph. The school will'be held from May 5 to 7. Road and General accounts totalling $14;511.52 were accepted and approved for payment. St. Helens Mrs. Donald Wheeler and sons. of Calgary have been visiting her parents, . Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dorscht and family. The next shoot, party will be held in the St. Helens Hall on Thursday night. Tom Todd is a patient in Wing - ham and District Hospital., Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Perrott andfamily of Goderich were Sun- day visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Forster. Robichaud, Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick, and Madame Robichaud, were the recipients Saturday evening of the ten mil- lionth co'py of the Bible to be presented by Canadian Gideons. On a world basis Gideons in 98 countries are now placing a mil- lion Bibles every 28 days in hotels, motels, hospitals, schools, penal institutions, and , various other institutions. Morris council . . „. iv,.e . c consIerS report on Myth Drain Morris Township Council re -1 ceived a report 'on the Blyth Creek Drain at their last meeting on .March 4. James A. Howes, OLS, was present at the meeting to answer questions from con- cerned ratepayers. Council passed a motion that, the en- gineer's report on the Blyth Creek Drain be provisionally adopted by bylaw No. 5, 1974 as read the first and second times. A further motion on the matter called for a Court of Revision on the Blyth Creek. Drain to be set for April 1, was passed. . The council mored .on to trans- portation and highway improve- ment expenditures. A motion was put forward by councillor Robert Grasby that the statement of pro- posed expenditures for public transportation , and highway improvements in 1974 in the amount of $83,350 for a spbsidy allocation of $50,000 be .adopted. Another motion, this time moved by councillor Ross Smith, sug- gested that the council request a supplementary allocation of $12,000 in subsidies. Then councillor Thomas Miller moved that the statement of proposed expenditures for public trans- portation and highway improve- ments in 1974 for the amount of $20,000 for a supplementary al- location of $12,000 be adopted. That motion was carried. Council decided ' to give third reading to bylaw No. 6, 1974, which calls fot the collection of taxes twice yearly. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Alice Ver- " steeg; vice president, Karen Mann; press reporter, Bonnie Behrns; secretary, rotating. The leaders outlined the club,' the record book and the minute book. Mrs. Behrns discussed "Important Image". Group work was "Expressing Yourself and Personal Analysis".
