Miss Greta Harris, treasurer, has received a letter, from the Upper Canada District pace Stating the total contributions for the year 1973, including money received from the c„anv ass and money sent directly to the Society from Wingham, was $1,550. The Bible Society expresses its sincere thanks to all who .shared in making this amount possible. It is a remarkable fact that not one of the spectacular changes which have occurred' in the course of history hasin any way invalidated the message of the Bible. Statements such as "The 'Word of the Lord abideth for- ever" seem more' true -than ever before because never ' have the teachings of the scriptures about than, about God, and about the type of life which brings fulfill- ment and' meaning to human existence been more questioned or tested. The demand for the scriptures, especially in Asia, Africa and Latin Anierica, has ,been greater than the supply but this year the Society hopes sufficient can' be printed to meet the 'expanding needs. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps in this wonderful work. a , planned this spring. Everyone is welcome.
