This weekin preparation for your special Christmas. I will tell you about a few of the most. out- standing to he seen on our Cana- dian netvvorks. The whole bit begins this Thursday. the 13th, on CRC° when Andy Williams and his family entertain you with their brand of holiday music and song. That hour-long special begins at 9 p.m. The cast includes Andy, his Grandma, Grandpa, brothers, sister. nephewshis estranged wife Claudine Longet and her sis- ter. Andy's three childrenand even the family dog. And if that's not enough. Claudine even helped write the show. It is produced and directed by our native son. that genius. Norman Campbell. Music permeates the atmos- phere on Wednesday, the 19th, when Maureen Forrester and Gene Lees star in "A Joyful Noise" at 9 p.m. What a better time than Chrisatmas to 'make a joyful noise* and that is exactly what they do, with the help of the St. Michael's School Choir of Tor- onto. Saturday. the 22nd, you can take a trip to "Santa's Work- shop" at the North Pole and watch him preparing for the big day: that's on CKCO. This is a puppet show but for the whole family to watch and enjoy. On the CBC that same evening, "Singa- long Jubilee" will present special Christmas music on their show which follows the hockey game. The highlight of Christmas Eve's viewing will be the annual worship service at 11:30 p.m. This year it comes from St. James Anglican Cathedral in Toronto. It will be seen on the CBC network. Christmas Day programming begins on the CBC with the an- nual message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth jo all her Com- monwealth subjects. It will be seen first at 10 a.mto be re- peated at 11: 22 following The Na- tional. Other CBC highlights in- clude a program of Christmas music by the Winnipeg Sym- phony Orchestra at 7 p.m.; a musical special from England at 0:30. "The New Fangled Wan- dering Minstrel Show", featuring about 20 young performers who visit museums and other historic locations in England's Yale of York. always 'singing as they go'. At 10 p.m.. comes a religious special entitled "The Virgin" which explores the meaning of the Virgin Mary in Christianity and talks about her relevance in today's society.
