Activities
On Wednesday Nov., 29th we
finished the house, Teague
Newcomb ball activities. When
Mr. Livermore and Brenda Haas-
noot calculated the points they
found that the scores stood at Red
18, Blue 14, and : Orange and
Green tied with 8 points each.
After Christmas holidays ' we
will be having basketball but
until then the boys and girls will
play volleyball with teams play-
ing each other, or against the

in gift service
WROXETER - The. Sunday
School of the United Church held
its annual White Gift service on
Sunday morning with the super-
intendent, Mrs. Ronald Mc-
Michael, leading the service.
Miss Velma Louttit gave ' the
Merry Christmas reading.
• The scripture was read by Mrs.
McMichael, Louise Gibson,
Lynne . Chambers, Linda Lee
Riley and Janice McMichael. A
play, "The Story of the White
Gifts", was performed by Dianne
'McLean, Rick Fines, Judith and
Karen McMichael, with Mrs. Mc-
Michael as narrator. The choir
rendered the anthem, "Come,
Zhou Long Expected Jesus",
under the direction of the organ-
ist, Mrs. E. Martin.
The Sunday School members
occupied the front pews and pre-
sentcd their White Gifts during
'the offering. These are to be
taken to their friends on the San-
gcen Reserve near Southampton.
v. G. Stich gave the an-
nouncements and thanked all
taking part in the impressive ser-
vice.

turkey dinner
LAKELET - The home of Mrs.
Cliff Hallman was the setting for
a delicious turkey dinner enjoyed
by 16 members and seven guests,
preceding the December meeting
of the Women's Institute.
The business meeting was
presided over by Mrs. Derril
Hallman, president. Thank you
notes were read from Mrs. D.
Hallman, Mrs. George Hubbard,
and the Versteeg family.
Mrs. Percy Huth gave a report
of the District board of directors'
meeting held in Walton and also
read an enjoyable poem, "The
Week before Christmas".
The January meeting • will be
held at the home of Mrs. Gordon
Wright. A demonstration of dip -
`ping chocolates was given by
Mrs. H. Wallace, followed by an
huction of candy and cookies,
which realized $17.30. As a fitting
close to the Christmas meeting
the roll call, a gift exchange, was
answered by members and
guests. Gifts were presented to
the current 441 club leaders.

ham, formerly of this com-
munity, expects to be released
soon from the Wingham and Dis-
trict Hospital.
