Before the meal, Mrs. Mac Eadie offered words of welcome to all. , ' At 730 everyone gathered in. the church ,auditorium for the encampment service. Mrs. Eadie presided over the ceremonies and Mrs. Raymond Neill led the girls in a songfest similar to what they enjoy each week at their regular club meeting. Mr. and MOs, Gary Hetler, prospective missionaries to Bolivia, favored those • in at.- tendance with a musical duet, "Heaven Came Down", with gui- trir accompaniment. A letter of congratulations from Mrs. Pansy Hotchkiss, to all, the girls receiving awards, was - ;read by Mrs. Eadie, her daugh- ter. Then followed the presenta- tion of the 'Pilgrim' awards by Mrs. Bruce MacLean and Mrs. Bruce Penny, Pilgrim guides. Gold attendance stripes for attending 40 consecutive meet- ings were received by` '`iberley Foxton and Mary Rae. 'Red at- tendance stripes, for -attending at least, 36 out of 40 consetutiv meetings, were received by Linda Darling,_ Brenda Foxton, Cathy Foxton, Denise Walker, Nancy. Darling, Bonnie Mat- thews, Linda Taylor, Lois Darling, Connie Haugh and Sheila Burke. Glenna and Susanne- Barkey received their water badges; Sheila Burke her handcraft badge; Cathy Foxton, advanced water badge; - Brenda Foxton, handcraft . home care, nature,. outdoor, water, advanced water, Bible and mission badges; Connie Haugh, drawing and music maker badges; Shelley Jones, drawing, nature, new life, outdoor and pets badges; Mary Rae, handcraft and nature badges; Michelle Rintoul-, Bible, collections, garden, handcraft, memorization, nature, new life, outdoor, pets, water and ad- vanced water badges;. Brenda was especially coin= ended for working so hard to earn these three ranks. Colonists' awards were then presented by Mrs. Frank Collar And Mrs. Lorraine Clugston, Colonist Guides. Cathy Fischer received her ° gold attendance Stripe.' Red stripes were earned by Joan Cerson, Kathleen King, Rosemarie Fear, Rhonda Lee, Anna Haugh, Lynne Bridge, Cathy McDougall and Kim Mc - he activity planning badge was earned by Lynne Bridge and Sheila *Shobbrook ; individual sports badge, Cathy Fischer, Kathleen King, Lynne Bridge, Rhonda Lee, Anna Haugh and Sheila `Shobbrook; beginning swimming badge, Lynne Bridge and .. Rhonda Lee; babysitting badge, Kim McDougall; party planning badge, Cathy Fischer, kathleen -Xing, Anna Haugh and Cathy McDougall; Christian life badge, Cathy Fischer, Cathy Mc- Dougall and Anna Haugh; per- sonal development. badge, Anna Haugh and Cathy McDougall. The rank of Trailblazer was earned by Cathy Fischer, Kath- leen King, Kim McDougall, Sheila Shobbrook and Anna Haugh. Mrs. Collar gave the dedication prayer for all the girls, especially those who had earned awards. A hymn was sung by everyone, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Clugston. Mr. and Mrs. Het - ler then sang another duet,, part 'Of it in Spanish. Mr. Hetier then told of the cus- toms. and life of the Bolivian native, showing interesting curios from that country. He showed pictures of missionary work in Bolivia and Paraguay. Mr. and Mrs. Hetler hope to go as missionaries to South America upon completion of their course at the New Tribes' Mission School near Durham. Rev. Bruce Penny closed the encampment with prayer. ECE1VING THEIR RANKS at the Pioneer Girls En- campment, held at tete Wingham Baptist Church on Tues- day evening are Cols. The group ' .con- ducted open-air services and pre- sented musical programs- at the - hospital and the Mennonite Home,: performing group num- bers, duets and solos. A number of local young peoplelierformed well in solo numbers, some for the first time. Captain J. Cameron spoke at both morning and evening worship .services' on anddaY . —About 50-60 relatives and` friends of the residents there attended Open House at Brook- haven Nursing Home on Sunday. Though the damp weather kept some away, it did not dampen the spirits of those involved as the residents enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee with their families and friends. Mr. and Mrs. 11.
