tacted and in all instances in-

supplies whereat an all-time: high.
Most firms said they wouldnot be
able to accept scrap paper ; for
periods ranging from two to six
months.
The 'Scouts and Cubs extend
thanks to area residents for co-
operation in the past in collecting
paper but regret . that, due to
present .circunhstances of high
transportation costs and low
prices for paper they will be un-
able to continue the drives at
present.

There were no injuries as a re-
sult of an accident in which
Remy Selling of RR 2, Bl
struck a vehicle owned by John
Blake of Blyth on Dinsley Street,
Tuesday, 'May 15. Damage to
both vehicles was . estimated' at
$900.
On Wednesday, May 16, Barry
W. Johnston of RR 3, Holyrood,
and Jack R. Vlasblom of Wing -
ham were involved in a two -car
accident on Sideroad 18-19, north
of Highway 86. There were no in-
juries and damages were esti-
mated at $950.
On Thursday, a collision be-
tween vehicles owned by Gerald
S. Wheeler of RR 1, Ethel, and
James W. Houston of Wroxeter,
on Sideroad 15.6, north of Huron
County Road 16, Morris Town-
ship, resulted in $1,400 damage.
There were no injuries.
There were $100 in damages
after Dawn M. White of Brussels
and Joyce E. Tipple of Burlington
were involved in a two -car colli-
sion in. Brussels. on Saturday. No
one suffered injuries in the mis-
hap. ,
No injuries but $650 damage re-
sulted from a collision on Sunday
on Highway 4, north of the Blyth
CPR crossing in which Frederick
Greenfield of Mount Forest and
William Patterlson'of RR 3, Blyth,
were involved.
During the week the Wingham
detachment of the provincial
police made eight investigations
under the Liquor Control Act,
charging eight persons. They also
laid 12 changes under the High-
way Traffic Act and fssued ten
warnings. Twenty-eight investi-
gations were carried out with
three persons being charged.
An old -tuner is a person who
