Thursday. She spoke of the first
Easter Day, remembering how it
was preceded with a furious
storm. "It was out of this gloom
and threat of Good Friday that
there sprang:the glory. of Easter
Day", she -said. "Spring is the
season of hope and . really; joins
with. Easter. The new green
shoots are symbolic • of Easter
truth that there is no death; death
is swallowed up in victory. Good
Friday, with its suffering and
shame, was not the last chapter
in the story of Jesus; on Easter
Day, He was raised from the
dead, never to die again."
. le closing, Mrs. Emerson said,
"The miracle changed the dis-
ciples into bold courageous cru-
saders. Today Easter brings a re-
assurance of faith in God." She
closed with a poem, "My
Savior", and led in prayer.
President Mrs. Bill Rintoul was
in charge of the meeting; she
gave a call to worship and wel-
