Mr., Mrs. T. Morrison.

WHITECHURCH -- Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Morrison of Lucknow,
formerly of Whitechurch, cele-
brated their 35th wedding anni-
versary at their home on Satur=
day with Open House afternoon
and evening.
Mrs. Morrison was the former'
Constance Buckton, daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred

Buckton of Toronto and in later
years, of Whitechurch. Mr.
Morrison was born at Langside, a
son 9f•the late Mr. and Mrs. J. B.
Morrison. They were married
April 4, 1930, at Guelph.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrison have
two sons, Jim of Lucknow and
Kenneth of Alberta and one
.daughter, Mrs. Frank (Marilyn)
Stockhill of South Porcupine.
They have five grandchildren.
Present for the occasion to
celebrate with them, were their
daughter, Mrs. Stockhill, and
daughters Connie and Colleen;
his sisters, Mrs. Eva Cameron
and Mrs. Victor (Edna) Case -
more of Brantford; and Mrs.
Morrison's brother, Herb Buck-
ton.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrison were
members of Chalmers Pres-
byterian Church here before
transferring to Lucknow. While
here, Mr. Morrison was chaitr-
man of the Board of Managers of
Chalmers and a member .of the
athletic association. He was also
influential in building ,both ser-
vice stations in Whitechurch. He
is, a veteran of World War II.
Attending their Open House,
were guests from South Porcu-
pine, Lucknow; ` 'Wingham,
Pickering, Kitchener, Culross
and Brantford.
—Mrs. Olive Boss spent the
holiday weekend with relatives in
Ottawa and Pembroke.

WHITECHURCH — A mis-
cellaneous shower was held on
Saturdayevening in Chalmers
Presbyterian Church Sunday
School room,.in honor of Mrs. Al-
lan Yockelson of Toronto, the
former Darlene Simpson,, daugh-
ter of Mr. and.Mrs Hugh Simp-
son ,.,;°'S„44,, .t
Mrs. Donald Ross presided at
the piano while Mrs. Yockelson,
her sister, Jean Simpson, and her
friend, Brenda . King, took their
seats at the front of the room dec-
orated with blue, yellow and
green balloons and streamers.
Eileen deBoer was mistress of
ceremonies and began the even-
ing with community singing with
Mrs. Ross pianist.
Rhonda Gibson and Linda
Moore, accompanied by Mrs.
Garnet Farrier, sang "The Bible
Tells Me So" and "The Rain".
Mrs. Millan Moore gave a read-
ing, -"The Enchanted Shirt".
Irene deBoer then introduced
Mrs. Yockelson and Ruth Elliott,
Kathy Purdon and Jane Laidlaw
presented the gifts, including
cake plates, mugs and tumblers,
linens, kitchenware, bathroom
sets, electrical appliances and a
cookbook.
The guest of honor very
-graciously thanked the sponsors
and all who attended. Lunch was
served at the close of the evening.

answered the roll call when the
Belgrave I 4-H club held its meet-
ing., Minutes of the last meeting
were read by. Patsy Scott.
A demonstration followed with
Mrs. Moore discussing hems and
finishing of garments. The girls
worked on the samples for their
books and also worked on their
.garments.
The next meeting will be held
April 30.

ed.
Program convener was Mrs.
Walter Scott who chose as her
mtto, "By the faith which
Easter , kindles, ' hope for the
world is sustained". Readings,
entitled "Scatter Sunnite ' and
"A Heap of Joy in Living", were
given by Mrs.- Stewart Procter.
Guest speaker was Rev. John
G. Roberts who spoke on the
Easter message and what' it
means to each individual. "Take
the Easter message out of the
church", he said, "and there isn't
much left. The essence and faith
is the foundation of life. The
Easter message and faith is
God's purpose to save the world
and the people therein. We have
to have personal faith in Easter
and the Resurrection and
triumph over sin, believing that
through Christ we live, move and
have our being". ,
A demonstration of an Easter
arrangement was displayed . by
Mrs. Leslie Bolt, using styro-
foam ;
tyro -foam; a colored plastic egg con-
tainer proved very pretty and
helpful. Poems, "Package of
Seed" and "An Easter. Thought",
were recited by Mrs., Ivan,
Wightman.
The secretary, Mrs. Stan Hop-
per, gave the report of previous
meetings and also gave the treas-
urer's report: She made special
reference oto the social evening
which the Institute sponsored on
behalf of the_ "Save the Eyes"
project.
The correspondence included
cards of thanks and a letter an-
nouncing the district annual
meeting to be held in Dungannon
ons May 30. The report of the nom-
inating
committee was given by
Mrs. Hazel Procter and the finan-
cial statement by secretary--
