Council agreed to the erection
of hydro poles on the toad allow-
ance in front of lots 22, 23, 24 and
25, Concession8, and passed gen-
eral and road accounts totalling
$5,573.79 for payment.

different kinds of neckbands. The

LAI{ELET – Roll call Was an-
swered by all members and
Donna Forcer read the minutes
when the Nifty 'Nits met at her
home. The girls discussed plans
for a fashion show for Achieve-
ment Day. They also discussed
tips on pressing and finishing
necklines. Each leader demon-
strated making binding for a
bound neckline and each member
made a sample of the neckband
for her record look;

The secretary for resource
development, the Honourable
A.B.R. Lawrence, announced this
week that the 'Government has
decided» to take three additional
- steps beyond what has already
been announced with respect to
help in relation to flooding and
high water levels.
The Solicitor General may now
request involvement of the Ar
med Forces provided the federal
government may offer the ,prov-

Secondly, there is a proposal
for the development of a system
of loans for ' the purpose of
making, cash immediately avail-

decided to use the same system
as was used in the Ontario
Seasonal Employment Program

erect protective works or make
repairs to existing . works.

Mr. and Mrs. John Jamieson,
Dale and Robert returned on
Tuesday from Florida where they
had spent a few weeks with rela-
tives.
On Good Friday a joint Easter
service was held in Chalmers
Presbyterian Church. Karl De
Koeijer of the United Church pre-
sided for the service with Victor
Wybenga giving the Easter mes-
sage. Members of the United
Church choir assisted the Pres-
byterian choir in the message of
song.

were Easter visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Elwood Groskorth.
BELMORE --- Sunshine., and
hightemperatures favored the -
sixth annual Delmore Pancake
and Maple Syrtilp Festival which
was held Saturday in the com-
munity 'centre. Approxln ately °
- . 2,200. attended with guests com-
ing from as far away as -Van-
couver, Winnipeg, Quebec, Re-
gina and Maryland. Fifty'gallons'
of syrup, 90 s dozen eggs, 800
pounds of flour and 900 pounds of
sausage were consumed.
/fhroughout the day entertain-
ment was provided, by The Good
Intentions of 'Teeswater; The
Lang Family, The Country Pals,
Crippled Duck, Tom Darling and
Doug Inglis. Draws were held en_
two locally -made quilts which
were won by, • wire, Cameron

held in the evening to the music of
Crippled Duck.
Total receipts for the day were
approximately $5,000. Members
of the community will decide at a
