eoRRIE - . Unit Two of the
United Chtareh Wor ee met at the
home of Mrs. Delbert Clegg with
Faster being the theme of the
Program.
The quilt committee reported
several qts. had been made for
the spring, bale. Plans were made
to apo r the showing of Elmer
Farrish's pictures of bis 1978 tour
of South America. These pictures
houh1 prove interesting to the
public as they are mostly from an
agricultural viewpoint and telling
of the problems of the people. It
was decided to invite Douglas In-
glis of McIntosh, solo class
winner of the Wingham talent
Show to sing the same evening.
The singing of an Easter hymn
followed by prayer closed the
meeting. launch was served by
the Mess, assisted by Mrs.
John Thornton and Mrs. Lorne
Walker.
Red Cross. Cauvass
GORRIE -- The Gorrie and
District Red Cross canvass was
nearly completed with just a few
lines left to be collected from.
The campaign progress was 81.4
per cent fort 1973. .Donations to
date are $406.75. The executive
appreciates the work of the can-
vassers.
The Loan Cupboard is avail-
able to all .citizens of Howick
Township. It consists of hospital
beds, w a '. air, crutches and
walker:

The St. Stephen's Church ladies
ponsored a bike-a-walk-a-thon
Trom Gorrie to Fordwich and re-
turn of ten miles with 16 parti-
cipating. It was a resounding suc-
cess.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hoy ac-
companied Mr. and Mrs. Lynn
Hoy and family. of Wing1iam to
Kitchener on Sun`tiay and visited

ACW meeting.
at Trinity
FGRDWICH -- The April meet-
ing of Trinity Anglican Church
Women was held in the church
basement with J. Daunt presid-
ing. The meeting opened with a
hymn and prayers. Devotions on
the Gift of Love were presented
by Lynn Bunker and Grace
Bt owne.
Roll call was answered by 18
members with each donating a
tea towel for the church kitchen.
The financial report was given by
the treasurer and minutes were
read by the secretary. Mrs. E.
Strong read a letter of thanks for
the used stamps sent to the Bible
Society for use in India and South
America. Thank -you cards were
read and it was moved to pur-
chase a clock in memory of Mrs.
Elsie Demerling with a donation
that was received.
A donation of $100 was made to
the church funds. J. Daunt read
an article "My Brother's
Keeper" and left each with the
thought as to how she could help
improve some of the problems
such as hunger, drugs, strikes,
poverty in the world today.
The meeting • closed with
prayer. Rona Browne was in
charge of the program and lunch
was served by Mrs. M. Kirby and
Mrs. James Vittie assisted by
Jean Sothern.
