BELMORE I The second meeting of the 8el- mol'e 1 club was held at the arena with 11 girls present. It was de- cided to call the. group the Bel- ntore•Knit Wits. Alternating and adjtitting patterns for knits was discussed. Mrs. D. MacAdam discussed and demonstrated cut- ting and marking material. • THE STRECHEES , 'e fourth meeting of the Bel - mire Strechees was held at the bole of Karen and Twyla Dick- SoO on Apiril 2. The meeting opened with the 4-H motto fol- lowed by the minutes which were read 'by Karen Dickson. The roll call,Was "Compare the total cost of your garment (s) with a similar ready-made one" and was an- swered by the six members. Neckbands were discussed and 1:. Dickson demonstrated how ta attach the collar. Mrs. Evers showed how to apply appliques and demonstrated the mitred neckband. The, handout sheets were, then explained. iISTOWEL drive-in OPENS FOR A NEW SEASON FRIDAY, MPRH 20th, EATOH USK YO DAWN SNOW Ii. 20 & SAT. 21st IGA's take title in the house league Remington's IGA came up with a 6-3 win over Walden's Trans- port (Harkema Express) to take the . best three-out•of-five final series, three games to one, to win the Wingham PeeWee-Bantam House League championship. IGA started fast with three goths in the first 15 minutes before Walden's got on the score sheet. The winners led 5-1 after one minute of the second period. In the third frame Walden's appeared to be making a come- back with two early goals but then Remington's nipped the surge with their sixth and final tally to clinch the - game and the title. Big gun for IGA was Jim Ste. Marie with four goals while singles went- to Bill LeVan and Doug 'Red Front' Merkley. Scoring for Walden's were Jackie Ohm with a pair and Rick McLennan. KOOL KNITS The sixth meeting of Auburn 3, 4-1I club was held at the home of Mrs. Edward Robinson. The meeting was opened with the pledge followed by the minutes read by Debbie 'Jefferson. The roll call was, "How are yCju going to care for your garment?" The fall /and spring projects were dis- cussed. Members were shown how to sew a fake cuff and how to sew a fake shank on a flat button.
