T ankoffertng meeting of the
WMS wes held• in the Freshyy
terian Church on April 4, Presi-
dent Ws. Joseph Dunbar pre-
sided and opened the meeting
'with a poem, .tThe
don". A hymn "The lay
Resurrection" was sung.
Mrs. Dunbaz' welcomed the
visitors from the Auburn and
Hensel' WMS groups.
The scripture. from St. John's
gospel was read by Mrs, George
Fear.. The meditation was taken
by Mrs. Alan McBurney. Mrs.
Walter Shortrecd then read the
prayer. •
A solo, "The Holy City", was
sungby Mrs. Harold Campbell 'of
Blyth accompanied by Mrs. Wil-
liam Dalrymple on the pialo.
This was followed by the hymn,
"The Head that once Was Crown-
ed with Thorns".
Mrs. Dunbar introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Robert
Campbell of Wingham.
Mrs. Campbell chose as her
topic "The Cost of Living". Good
living means different things to
different°people. When Jesus was
living on earth He had no mate-
rial wealth; but tried to tell men
that He was a free gift from God
to man. In this do-it-yourself age
we don't like to take a free gift,
given to us at such tremendous
cost to God. The cost of living
`eternally was paid for by Jesus
and is our. to . claim if only we
would accept it.
A piano solo, "O Master Let Me
Walk with Thee", was played by
Mrs. Dalrymple. Mrs. Victor
Youngblut thanked the speaker
and all those who helped with the
meeting. "All the Way My
Saviour Leads Me" was sung.
Mrs. Dunbar closed the m_ eet-
ing with prayer. Lunch . was•
served and a social time enjoyed.

Association convention over the

favoredthe audience with a duet,
"Just a Little Talk with Jesus".
A short .business period fol-
lowed after which the guest
'speaker;: Miss Lavonne Ballagh
of 'Wingham, was introduced by
Mrs. Golley, Miss Ballagh chose
as her topic, `Easter 1973". She
stressed that the God we worship
is "alive" `sand because He lives
we have a chance tolive also.
Anyone that doubts the ressurec-
tion doubts God: Christ is alive
and Christ *as crucified but most
important of all Christ "arose".
With God nothing is impossible.
What does the .Resurrection
mean to us now? It means new
life here and now, not just after
death.
Mrs. Bernard Thomas thanked
Miss Ballagh for her inspiring
words and presented her with a
gift. Mrs. J. J. Elliott and Mrs.
Joe Walker received the offering
which was dedicated by Mrs.
Gulley.
Larry and Paul then sang a
duet, namely "He". "Jesus Keep
Me Near the Cross" was sung and
the meeting closed with prayer.
Lunch was served by the ladies of
the church \and a social hour was
enjoyed.
