BEL.GRAVE INTERMEDIATES have been really raking in
the trophies so far this year. Already Tri;Couhty Champions
and WOAA Intermediate "D" Champions, they are at pres
ent playing off with Atwood for the WOAA Intermediate
Grand Championship. A loss for Belgrave on Monday eve-

Belgrave Intermediate
team one game ahead
Belgrave Intermediates took
the first game in their best -of -
seven playoff series with Atwood
by 5-3 in 'Listowel arena Sunday
night to start out on the right foot
on the trail to the title.
TBelgrave opened the scoring
with a goal by Grant Coultes at
2:29 of the first period. Grant was
assisted on that goal by Neil Ed-
gar and Neil Vincent. At 10:42 At-
wood came back with a goal by
Harold Douglas. Lloyd Michie
put Belgrave ahead again on a
pass from Neil Bieman, but
within the next two minutes At-
wood scored two goals to take a
three -two lead.
Belgrave replied at 15:48 on a

grave game as Tom Black potted
two goals in the second period for
the winners with two assists
going. to Grant Coultes and one
each to Brian Coultes and Jim

third period but action was fast
with much activity in each end as
(Belgrave refused to -play a defen-
sive game.
The second game was Monday
night at Wingham with the third
returning to Listowel arena Fri-
day night.
Belgrave is a group "D'; team..
Atwood is in the "C, minor"'
grouping;. Harriston is "C" and
Milverton "B". The winner of the
Belgrave-Atwood series plays the
winner of the Harriston-MIIvetC-
ton series for the WOAA grand
championship.

A TRIUMPHANT Steve Beaupre, captain of the Waterloo
"AAA" champions in the ninth annual Midget Hockey
Tournament here last week, receives the championship
trophy from Wingham Recreation Director Jim Ward after
a thrilling victory over a dogged Welland team that fought
to the last second of the game. The game was the final one in
the tournament that lasted from Tuesday through Sunday
