On Sunday Kurtzville once
again showed Belgrave that they
were not going _to give any.hing
away to Belgrave. Kurtzville out -
skated, outpassed and outscored
Belgrave 6-2 in what was the
closest game of the series thus
far.
Belgrave seemed to lack the zip
and desire that they must pro-
duce in order to defeat Kurtzville.

takes more penalties than their
opposition; but manage to kill off.

so in this encounter as five of the
six goals Kurtzville got were
scored while Belgrave was
shorthanded.

the end.

action coming up both Tuesday
and Thursday nights of this week.

Arena. Belgrave came on strong
in this first game, defeating their
rivals from. Kurtzville with little
of the furious action which was tb,
be- a feature .of later games.
Kurtzville opened the scoring.
at 8:08 of the first period on a goal,
by Bob McIntosh, only to'have
Neil Vincent of Belgrave tie it up
at, 15:35 on a short-handed, goat,

In the second period Belgrave
managed to outscore Kurtzville 2-
.0 on goals by Grant Coultes.
In the third period Belgrave
'again got a two -goal performance
this time from Larry . Robinson
with Tom Black and Lloyd Michie

added one goal for Kurtzville,
making the final score 7-2 for Bel -

The Cyclone's first win over
Caledonia this season was a big
one as it gave thein a 1-() lead in
their best-offfive semi-final Cen-
tral Junior "C" play .off.
Wayne Millen at 2:19 from Dale
Fleischauer .gave Listowel a 1-0
first perled.lead. Ken Farrish
froln Bob Moore at 12:16 of the
second, scored what eventually
proved to be the winner.
Tom Sutcliffe narrowed the
margin at 14:36 of the second and
only sensational netminding by
Larry Ai rent kept the Corvairs
from evening the .coutlt.
Caledonia pulled their goalie
late in the third•period in an effort
to get :the equalizer :butthe move
backfired as an unidentified Cor-
vair handled the puck in hisown
crease which is an automatic
penalty -shot infraction.
Dale Fleischauer, the Cy-
cl"one's leading snorer, was
chosen to take the shot and the
crafty centreman made no mis-
take, beating Bill Burke cleanly
at 19:39 and putting the game out
of reach for the Corvairs.

Stainton Kings and Rerti'ing-
take-all game this t iturday at 11
a.m. After a tie in the first game
of the _series, IGA put Staintons
back to the wall with a 5-2victory
last Thursday night. With little
more than five minutes left, IGA
scored three goals to break the
game wide open.
IGA goals were scored by Dave
Golley, Jim Ste. Marie, Mike
Beattie. Bill LeVan. and David
Rat, .1..lin 011agan and Paul
AitrInsibli supplied the scoring for
Stainton
Monday. night the Kings would
riot lie down and skated to a 7-4
victory. over IGA's. Red Shirts.
Stainton held a 4-1 lead at the end
of the first period only to see it
completely erased by a three -
goal splurge for IGA in the
second. Just when it seemed as
though Staintons were goners,
tneyfound new life and skated off
to victory with a three-gnal per-
formance in the third.
Big men for Staintons were
Paul Aitchison with a. hat trick.
and Doug Kuyvenhoven with two
goals and twp assists. Other
Kings' scorers were Timmy Hen-
derson and John O'Hagan. IGA
goals were scored by Dave Gol-
ley, Jim Ste. Marie and "Red

Marks Brothers and Walden's
Blue Machine are also tied up,
one game apiece. Marks
Brothers went one game up last
Thursday night with a 5-2 victory.
Waldens started out fast, going
ahead 2-1 on goals by Mark Pass-
more arid Terry Anger, but after
the 14 -minute mark of the first
period, Marks Brothers were in
complete control. Scoring for
Marks Brothers were Steve

Regular play in the Novice House League came to an end this past
week with the Canadiens and Leafs scoring victories
On Tuesday, Stephen Brydges, John Penny, John Leedham and
Brian Ste. Marie scored once each as the Canadiens edged the Hawks
4-3. Hawk scorers were Kevin Netterfield, Leo Kinahan and Stephan
On Friday, Robert Wharton recorded a shutout as the Leafs
blanked the Bruins 3-0. Leaf scorers were Vaughn Passmore with two

defeating Harriston Juveniles in
three straight games of 6-5, 7-2
and 10-1, demonstrating marked
superiority after the first rela-
tively tight game.
