held Sunday for all members of

stantial win following a victory at
Harriston Thursday, where they
eked out a 6-5 win over stiffer
opposition.

On Tuesday Marks met Stain -
tons with Marks determined to
win in order to keep pace with
IGA in the standings. In other
games this season between these
two clubs, Staintons handled
Marks quite well. They demon-
strated this ability again in the
first and part of the second period
as they forged ahead 2-0 on goals
by B. Stainton and T. Henderson
with assists awarded to C.
Hastings, B. Stainton and S.
MacKay.
The determined Marks' team
came back to tie the game by the
end of the second period. Scoring
plays were It. Harcourt from D.
Penny and S. Thompson; and K.
Turbitt from K. Carter.
The teams started the third
period tied. Each team had
several chances but the goalies
played strong games. After
several good chances by Stain -

R. Harcourt broke loose on

his second goal of the game for

Wingham Hospital girls had a
bard -fought battle with the team
of policemen's wives who have
taken over where Lloyd Doors
left off. The Hospital team,
skipped by Joan Ste. Marie, lost

The local Policemen played the
undefeated Bill Stephenson
CKNX rink and gave Bill a scare.
The police were leading and in
the seventh end, Bill tied the
game. On the eighth end, Roe
Croskill drew a stone in and then
Bill knocked it out, When Roe
tried to knock it out, he slid by to
give Bill another win, 7-6.
There will be no Industrial Cur-
ling on February 28 due to, a
ladies' bonspiel, but the league,
will be back at it on March 7.
