One of the outstanding awards
of the, curling season, the Dr.
Murray MacLennan Trophy, was
won on Saturday by a rink
skipped by Leonard Archam-
bault, Glenn Sellers, vice.; Tom
Cunningham, second; Gordon
Daer, lead. They also won first
prize in the 9 o'clock draw.
Norman .MacLennan and Mrs.
K. M. MacLennan were in atten-
dance to present the prizes and
trophy on behalf of the family.
Other results were:

Darryl Holmes picked up a long
pass from Jim. Langridge to tient
all up with only seconds remain-
ing in the game.
It was certainly good to see and
hear the parents of the boys on
Friday night.
The . turnout seemed much
better than usual. Perhaps this is
what caused such an improve-
ment in both teams' play. Let's
keep it up Mom and Dad.

the period. Hespeler then took
command of the game for a time,
scoring two goals.
In the second period Russell
Jones tied the game at 8:30 with
an unassisted goal, for the only
score of the period.
In the final stanza there was a

Things are really getting in-
teresting for the junior bantams.
The Meeses have 47 pOints; the
BC's 46 and the Rascals 45 so next
week, anything could happen. In
a litUe fight all their own are the
Archies with 36, the Snoopies 35
and the Peanuts 31.
Sandra Anger rolled the high
single of 131 and high double of
225. For the boys it was Brad
Geffie's 155 and 277. '

Wingham Midgets entertained
the Luclmott, team in an exhibi-
tion hockey game here last
Thursday, handing the ,visitots a
7-4 defeat.
Scoring started early in the
first period with Steve Caslick
popping one in assisted by Tom
Lee. Luclmew tied the game
when D. Montgomery scoted un-
assisted. The play see-eawed for
a while, Wingluun going ahead
again on a goal by Tom Lee unas-
sisted, Lucknow replyhig with
three -unanswered goals to put
them in the lead 4-2.
From there on, Winghani
forged ahead with two goals in
the second period and three in the
third to put the game away.
The scorers were Dave Dun-
bar assisted by Rick Jaddln,
Dennis Thompson assisted by
Dennis Dunbar and Bill Anger,
Toni Lee alone, Dennis Thomp-
son assisted by Bill Anger, Pete
Hilbert assisted by Steve Caslick

monds have 49; Stones 40; Bee
Gees 34; !lollies 29 and Doors 25.
Seniors
Randy Brenzil was high mair
for the seniors; his sinWe was 227
had a good 221 single; David
Wallcer's was 220 and Rob Young
had a 219.
The liCats have 60 points to
keep them in first place. In sec-
ond are the Argos with 52. The
Kedapaji have moved into third
with 36 and the Cane have 34.
IGA kids stop
blue machine
Well, it fmally happened. Wal
den's blue machine was stopped
5-4 by Remington's IGA in th
PWB house league hockey her
last Thursday.
4pA started out fast, scoring
four goals in the first 18 minutes
Then Walden's began pecking
away and tied the score 4-4 early
in the third. It looked as though
Walden's might pull it out, but
Dave Golley netted his third goal
of the game with less than two
minutes left.
Other scorers for IGA were .
Rick McKay and Mike Beattie.
Mark Passmore picked up his
third hat trick for the season with
Brian Leader picking up a single
for Walden's.
It was a week of upsets as
Stainton's won their second game
of the year, defeating IGA 4-2 on
Monday. John O'Hagan, a real
digger, scored two goals. Paul
Aitchison and Steve McKay
rounded out the scoring for Stain -
David Rae provided all the
scoring for IGA, notching two
goals one minute apart in the first
period. The fellow who made the
victory possible was Bob Des
Roches, who played his first
ame in goal. He gave the Kings
the goal protection they have
been lacking
