Any- one will be"welcome to join in on this, especially those who do not belong to the club. The club is also planning to take slides of geography class field trips. E. Madifl defeats Listowel On Thursday, January 4, the Madill Junior Mustangs defeated a strong Listowel team 51-45 in a very exciting game. It was just a matter of two or three points dif- ference throughout the entire game. Madill showed great bal- ance on the scoreboard, getting 13 points from Lloyd Vallance, 12 from Keith Raymond., nine from Kevin Murray, eight from Russ Jones and seven from Rene Cas- kanette. For Listowel, MacKen= zie had 18 points while Dubrick popped in 15. Mustang passing looked very good for the most part, with d Vallance controlling offen- siv tactics. On forward; Gord Black and Rene Caskanette had an excellent game recovering're- bounds while Keith Raymond was continually breaking in the clear for passing and give -and -go combinations. All in all, it was a good total team effort. For further improvement, we must now add much more alert- nessin our zone defence and work on a more varied offensive ' at- tack. The Midget basketball team also played Thursday but were defeated by Listowel 40-23 in a hard-fought game. Leading scor- er was Mark Tiffin with ten. SWEET VICTORY The so-called "Fools of '73" de- cisively defeated the Wiarton "Reach for the Top" team by a 130-85 score. Madill's team of Grade 12 students was led by Bob Loree; ethers, under the capable coaching of Mr. Forrest, are Carol Adams, Jim Fairies, Mardi Adams and Janice Kieffer. The game will be seen , on Channel 8 television February 24. The next game will be against Collingwood on the 24th of Janu- ary. Evidently, our team will be expecting a quicker pace from this team. Our very best wishes for con- tinued good fortune to the team. Biting the -hand that feeds We noted in a small tabloid re- cently a rather woebegone pair of characters, long hair, old rags, establishment -defying peace symbols, and one is saying to the other: "I'll run over and pick up my unemployment cheque and then drop off at the university to see what's holding up my cheque on the 'federal education grant and look into my research grant cheque. You go to the VD clinic and check nn your tests; then go to the free health centre and pick up the food stamps, and slide by the food market; and then we'll meet at the Federal BuiNpng at noon for the mass pick ng of this whole stinking establish- ment!" —Doug Thomson Bili Aitchison(106 lbs,) and David Heller (96 lbs.). ,• Madill' Wrestlers, Leslie Smith (120 lbs.) and Duncan .An- u %3 derson (138 lbs.).
