had the platform raised and en-
larged by men of the locality and
all will be ready for the Christ-
mas concert this Saturday eve-
ning.
A new oil furnace was installed
last week in Langside Presbyter-
ian Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Moffat
attended the Redi-Mix Christmas
banquet and dance on Saturday
evening.
Mrs. Clark Johnston of Bel -
grave visited last week with her
daughter, Mrs. George Young,.
Mr. Young and family.
Langside Church Christmas
concert will be held Saturday
evening (23rd), having been post-
poned due to inclement weather
last Saturday.: Please not ,the
change of date; it was, on the
weekend, set for Friday evening
but as this is the .: evening the
Whitechurch concerts are to be
held, Langside's date was chang-

Mrs. Bregman
WMS hostess
WHITECHURCH — The
Christmas meeting • of the Lang -
side WMS was held at the home of
Mrs. Robert Bregman. The Glad
Tidings' Christmas service was
used and carols were sung.
Mrs. Elmer Scott, Mrs. Visser
and Mrs. Peter deBoer gave
readings and a duet was sung by
Mrs. George Young and Mrs. Jim
Young. Mrs. Jim Young also con-
ducted a contest.
Christmas gifts for the resi-
dents at Carruthers Nursing
Home, were brought to the meet-
ing. •
Mrs. Bregman was elected
secretary to replace Mrs. de -
Boer. Reports were given and the
meeting closed with the Lord's
Prayer.
Mrs. Bregman served lunch.
The Ladies' Aid meeting was
then held with Mrs. deBoer
nominated president for the corn-
ing year. It was decided to give
the Children of the Church $10 for
expenses in 1973.
The leaders of the COC and the
executive of the Ladies' Aid are
to meerin the spring to plan ways
of making money for the groups.
Mrs. Mann gave the 1972 report.
