Sothern were Sunday guests with
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mulvey and
family at Belmore. Mr. and Mrs.
Gary Sothern, Tim and Tracy of
Palmerston were also visitors at
the same home.
Recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Carswell were Mr.
and Mrs. Wes Gilmore of Stroud.
Mr. and Mrs, Ron McClement
were Kitchener visitors on Satur-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Nickel,
Jacqueline, Wayne and Teresa
were Kitchener visitors on
Thursday.
Mr. and MrS. John Tudan and
family of Mississauga spent the
weekend at their home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Anson Ruttan and
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Angst at-
tended the feed dealers conven-
tion two days last week in Toron-
to.
Wally Gibson was taken to Lis-
towel Memorial Hospital last
week.
Miss Jean Foster of Toronto
spent the weekend here with her
mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Randy King spent
Sunday, with Mr. and Mrs. Jack
King in Guelph. Little Bruce King
returned home after spending a
week with his grandparents.
Mrs. Walter Demerling, Mrs.
Carl Stewart, Mrs. Bob Kelly and
Mrs. John Armstrong were Kit-
chener visitors one day last week.
Don Wilson spent the weekend
in Toronto.
Hugh Frew and Sharon of Pres-
ton were Tuesday guests. with Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Moore.
Mr. and Mrs. Scott Clarkson
and Bob spent the weekend with
relatives in North Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Nickel and
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Simmons, Mr.
`and Mrs. Carl Stewart, Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Stewart, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Sothern and Mr. and Mrs.
Doug Bunker attended the Camp-
bell Soup Christmas dinner and
dance in the Atwood Comfnunity
Centre on Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sim-
mermaker attended the Christ-
mas party put on by Shell Oil in
Owen Sound on Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schumacher
and Mr: and Mrs. Elmer Miller
visited in Waterloo on Thursday.
Anson Demerling was the win-
ner in the weekly draw at the
Corner Store last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Blake Witmer of
Grand Valley visited Thursday
evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Doig.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Stone and
family of Toronto spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Gauthier.
The Fordwich United Church
young people held a successful
tea and bake. sale on Saturday in
the church basement. Approxi-
mately $80 was realized. Garry
Schumacher and Teddy Klaassen
were winners in the draw.
Neighbors on the sixth of
Howick gathered at the new
home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson
and had a surprise party for them
on Thursday evening. Cards were
enjoyed and Bill and Evelyn were
given a set of door chimes:launch
was served and a social ,.time fol-
lowed.
Memory is something that tells
you that you know the guy but
doesn't tell you his name.

Karen Currah opened the Cana-
dian Girls in Training vesper
service Sunday evening. in the
United; Church here, Also assist-
ing in the service were. Heather
Neilson, Carolynne and Colleen
McMillan and Brenda Thornton.
The CGIT Choir sang many
carols accompanied by Mrs. G.
W. Sach on the organ.
Susan Hart and Vicki Brad-
shaw, Karen Hyndman and
Karen Underwood received the
offering.
Doreen Leek and Mrs. Norman
Fairies, the leader, led the
candlelight recessional. After the
service the girls exchanged gifts •
at the. home of Heather Neilson.
Mrs. Jones woke up with a
jump to hear the clanging of gar-
bage cans. She ran out and
shouted, "Am I too late for the
garbage?" The garbage man re-
plied, "No jump right in."
