Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd attended' the funeral' of an aunt, Mrs. John Gedcke, 'in Calvary United Church, Listowel, on Thursday. They also visited with Mrs. Edgar Wahl. Gilbert Beecroft has been chosen as president of the Bel - grave branch of the Canadian Bible Society. Master Paul Coultes had .his tonsils removed lash'. Friday Morning in the Wingham and District Hospital. The Messengers held their Christmas, meeting on Sunday in the United Church basement. The: children enjoyed making Christ- mas decorations. We .extend sympathy to the relatives of'.. the late Miss Mar- garet Yuill, formerly of this area, and also to Mr. and Mrs. Rae Crawfordin the death of her brother, Frank Little of Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. George Bullock of Zurich -visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vincent. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Barker and Bob of Goderich visited on • Sunday' with• Mr. and Mrs. Jack McBurney. . Donald and Douglas Walker, Alvin Moore and Bill Irvin of Lucknow left last Sunday for a two weeks' vacation to Florida. On the way they stopped and saw' Apollo 17 launched. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Orvis and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse visited on Sunday afternoon- with Mrs. Arthur H. Edgar, who is a patient in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Jamieson and Douglas Hanna were Sunday ,visitors with Mr. and Mrs. lim Geiger of Listowel. Weekly euchre BELGRAVE — Nine tables of euchre were played in the coin-, munity room last Wednesday evening. The minutes and correspon- dence were read and the treasur- er's report given. It was decided to assist the Hi -C and the Children's Aid with cash donations and ato continue alloca- ting money to Marine ,Mission. ' The year-end reports were given by the conveners. Mrs. William Coultes . presented the report of the nominating com- mittee which was accepted and is as follows: Past president, Mrs. William Coultes; president, Mrs. James Coultes; vice president, Mrs. Ross Anderson; secretary, -Mrs. Jack Taylor; treasurer, Mrs. Jack Higgins; finance, Mrs. Har- old Vincent; leader of afternoon Club members at Achievement Day BELGRAVE — All the girls of Belgrave III, "Delightful Dishes" attended Achievement Day. It was the completion of the club project, "The Third Meal". All participated in the quiz and questionnaires that were held in the morning. They also watched a film 'about a fashion show. After lunch they watched the skits and listened to those who explained their exhibits. The Belgrave exhibit which was salads for cold meats was commented on by Louise Proc- ter. Mrs. .Marie Hunt, home econ- omist of Shakespeare gave a comment on the skits, and Mrs. Jean Lawless, home economist of Harriston gave comments on the exhibits. A leadership award was pre- sented to Mrs. Leslie Jacklin of Wingham. The club leaders each received a "spoon and certificate for the girls. - unit, Mrs. Stanley Cook; leader of evening unit, Mrs. Laura. John- ston. Mrs. Willard Armstrong read a short Christ- mas story; "Three Chests". The Coultes sisters sang two Christ- mas numbers. The offering was received and dedicated. ' • WMS meets at mey ome _ BELGRAVE — The Christmas meeting of the Women's Mission- ary 'Society was held at the home of Mrs. J. C. McBurney With 11 present. . The meeting opened with Mrs, Joseph Dunbar reading the scrip- ture. Mrs. Stuart Cloakey led- in prayer. 'The secretary's report was given by Mrs. J. C. McBurney followed by the treasurer's report by Mrs, Dunbar. The' roll call was ,answered by a Christmas verse. Offering was received and dedicated by Mrs. ' Ronald Oke. Twenty-nine sick and shut-in calls were recorded. A letter was 'read from the leper colony in India,' thanking the group for the used stamps. A motion was made to send $10 to the Armagh Home in Toronto. A program committee of Mr$. Jo` seph Dunbar and Mrs. Ronald Oke was nominated to prepare the program for next year. The, new list of officers' for ,next year ,is as follows: President, Mrs. Joseph Dun- bar; vice president, Mrs. Ronald Oke; secretary, Mrs. J. C.
