Mother winter warning _is to
snowmoilers'who are starting off
on the wrong foot by operating
their machines in town, rather
than using the streets simply as a
means of going and. coming to
their operating areas.
The unwritten law in Wingham
is that snowmobilers use the
streets by the most direct route to
leave for the great open spaces
and come back home. If local
residents start to complain about
snowmobiles loitering or buzzing
around, town council can, quicklY
follow the example of other
centres where the machines are
banned from the streets entirely,
unless towed on a properly
licensed trailer. Got it?
Wingham police have been kept
busy with a multitude of small of-
fences, including several minor
traffic accidents mainly due to
slippery road conditions. There
have also been a few liquor
seizures, mainly involving fool-
lwdy yo04orint
ears.

ferent kinds of clay, the second
day they discussed the art of
glazing and the third day she ex-
plained the different kinds of
kilns. The fourth day Mrs. Wein-
stein brought her potter's wheel
and demonstrated how it could be
used, which fascinated the pupils.
Each day they made a piece of
pottery. The first day it was a
pinch pot, the next' dtly it was a
coil pot- and the last day it was a
slab pot. 1The pupils really en-

will be interesting to see how
many take it up as a hobby some
day.
