WROXETER
— Last Sunday
was observed as Visitation Day
by members of the United Church
here. Rev. G. Sach was in charge
of the service and chose for his
text Mark 6, verse 7, "He called
to Him the twelve and began to
send them out two by two". Until
this time in theBible Jesus em-
phasized .the word "Come"; now
he says "Go" t
Mr. Sach stressed the dedica-
tion needed to be an effective wit-
ness.
He mentioned William IV of
Prussia, Elizabeth Fry and the a
great artist, Michelangelo, and a
the- dedication of people like this N'
who, at great sacrifice, continued
to serve God. Mr. 'Sach also urged a
involvement in God's work; "Are g
we in the parade or are we on the . h
sidewalk?", he asked.
G
44,
Part of the obligation of the. "
visitation is to ask for a gift of
power to do God's will. To witness
you must have conviction and you
must make your own commit-
ment. Mr. Sach told a story of an
old man who sold his donkey to
give to the building of a church;.
the next year he `had topull the
plough himself. Mr. Sach urged
his kind of commitment from his
Workers; "this" he said "was
ove so amazing, so divine".
Adding to the 'theme of the
ervice, the choir rendered the
nthem, "When the Lord of Love
as Born".
The ladies of the church served
noonday lunch to the visitation
roup who later visited as many
omes as .possible. .
Next Sunday a special `White
ift' service will be held.
