Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Gregory and Kenneth of Atwood visited Sunday with Mr and Mrs. Wil- fred Gregory. Lucknow man named director A Lucknow area man, John T. Howard of RR 7, Lucknow, was named a director of a new or- ganization, the Ontario Limousin Association, when it was formed at a special meeting of Limousin beef cattle breeders held last week at the University of Guelph. Mr. Howard is a 1971 importer and owner of a number of half- blood Limousin cattle. President of the new associa- tion is George D. McLean of To- ronto and RR 1, Kincardine; vice president is Abner Martin of West Montrose and secretary -treas- urer is Phil Ritter. In addition to Mr. Howard, seyen other ,direc- tors -also serve on the hoard. John Lockhart, secretary - manager of that association was present at the Guelph meeting. The Limousin breed 'of cattle originates in the Limoge area of France. It ' is wheat red in calor and noted for its hardiness, fer- tility, ease of calving ;.and rapid maturity. It is often called. the "Carcass Breed" because of its high dressing percentage, marb- lingLand high cut-out ratio, which rateshighly in the new beef grad- ing systern. The breed first came to Canada in 1967 'and eachyear since, greater numbers have been im- ported. They came first to Alber- ta, then'the other Western Prov- inces, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Candidate is Ut speaker FORDWICH =- Tile young peo- ple conducted the morning wor- ship service in the United Church on Sunday. Special music and ,singing was provided by The Young Four of Clifford.
