Sanderson playing the piano.
The M.C. was Harold Lange-
doen who announced the scrip-
ture reader Duane Hoover.
Everyonened in the singing of

• Flowers Gone" accompanied by
i Miss Wilson on the piano.

tend the staff t on Nov.meeting 15
at 3:30 to further decide on the
*system of reporting.
The parents were asked to visit
,,Sons' or daughters' -rooms and
'meet their teachers. .
Some of„ the students Served
coffee to the parents after which
,,.they were asked to sign,a register
sand the class with the most par-
ents attending would receive a
treat of ice cream. This was won
by Room 3, Miss Edgar, teacher
pnd Room 18, Miss Goforth.

Cross Country. Run
On November 7th a cross
country run was held for elemen-
>tary schools at F. E. Madill
-Secondary School, Wingham.
There were 10 other schools par-
ticipating in the run. Each school
was allowed eight boys and eight
girls. The boys had to run ap-
.proximately two miles and the
girls one mile.
Leaving the school the boys had
to run once around the track then
up the hill through the long grass
and around ,the block through a
muddy corn patch; down a hill
and up another one across the
yard to the teacher. The boys had
fto run the track once more.
The order in which the schools
came in was Howick .with 111

FORDWICH -- Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Wylie and fan}ily wer=e
pleasantly surprised Friday
night when former neighbors and
friends gathered at their -home in
the village. The evening was
spent playing progressive euchre
after which Jack Brown ex -
.pressed best wishes to them in
their new home. They were pre-
sented with a console . set and

thanked everyone.

opened with a missionary hymn.
During devotions the' 'medita-
tion was taken by Mrs. J. Dat#iit.

Mrs. W. Sothern introduced the
special guest, Anson Ruttan, who
showed slides and gave .an in-
teresting talk on his recent trip to.
the British Isles. Slides of interest
included, St. Paul's Cathedral,
Westminster Abbey, Galway
Bay, Parliament Buildings, etc.
Mr. Ruttan showed some. heather
he had picked in Scotland. He told
of flying over Belfast where they

ceremonies at Howick Central School Friday morning' when representatives of every
class in the school pinned the symbolic flowers to the cross on the auditorium stage. The
