Fair board
bolds meeting
GORRIE — A meeting of the
Howick Fair Board was held in
the community hall Thursday by
the Howick Fair Board. The fi-
nancial report was given by the
secretary, showing a very good
year in spite of inclement wea-
ther. Accounts were paid in full.
Members 'interested will be
attending the District 8 annual
meeting in Seaforth, November 9
at 8p.m. The Howick Fair Queen,
Miss Elizabeth Neilson will be.
attending this meeting also;
Mrs. William Wright reports an
excellent showing of school fair
exhibits. The winners of the high-
est points in Turnberry Central
School were Barbara Ryan and
Ken Warwick. In Howick Central
School winners were Marcia Gib-
son and Dennis Kaufman.

phy was won by Vicki Peel of.
Turnberry.
Mrs. Oscar Kieffer showed
some very good slides taken at
the fair. Several of these will be
entered in the photographic com-
petition next year at the Febru-
ary convention.
Mrs. R. W. N. Wade was pre-
sented with the annual agricul-
¶ural Merit Diploma Certificate
on behalf of the Howick Agricul-
tural Society..
