BELMORE -- The .November

Mrs: Hank Bos. Mrs. Earl Fitch
conducted the devotions which
consisted' of an opening Bible
verse, scripture Leading and a

wqrld. This was followed by .a
short prayer.
The roll call was answered by
12 ladies and each named one of

ducteda discussion on family life
in which the members were
divided into groups of two to an-
swer the various topic headings
and late)— each group reported
their thoughts to the group as a
whole.

No from ccunty
on jail museum project
Huron County Council neatly
sidestepped any public discussion
in October of the decision on the
future of the Huron County jail.
The property committee re-
port, given by Reeve Ken F. Mc-
Michael, said the "matter is
under study" and would be dis-
cussed with county . council "as
soon as possible". Be added that
members were "agreed" that not
too much should be -said about the
project at the present time.
Present calculations are that
there will be seven additional
deputy reeves in county council
next year due to the increase in
new voters in certain .' ntiunteiy
palities. Plans are being made to
provide for seating of these new
members in the already. small
council chambers. •
The • social services adminis-
trator,, J. A.: MacKinnon, said
that, costs in his department
fluctuate from time to time.
« `During the June, 1972, ses-
sion, a report was presented to.
you comparing gross social
assistance costs from January 1•
to April 30 between 1971 and 1972,
showing an increase from $107,-
097.69 in 1971 to $109,332.51 in
197.," said Mr. MacKinnon. "The
gross costs far the period Janu-
ary 1 to September 30 show a de-
crease from $211,836.63 in 1971 to
$181,270.82 in 1972. This decrease
comes as a result of the Province
of Ontario taking over the
majority of nursing home costs
through the Extended Care Pro-,
gram provided by the .Ontario

Planning a wedding?,,
If you are planning a wedding the one thing .you may
overlook is the write-up for the newspaper. As news value,
we have tried unsuccessfully for' years to have wedding re-
ports submitted promptly. Our new policy should help.
Henceforth, wedding reports will be published free of
charge ONLY if the wedding form or write-up arrives in our'
office within One Week after the wedding., After that time
there will be a price of $5.00. •
Wedding pictSres will also be published free of charge
but ONLY if they are -in within Nine Days after the event.
This leaves a one week publication gap. After that time
there will also be'a $5.00 charge for printing the picture.
In other words, if both the report and the picture are
submitted within the allotted times there will be no charge
for either. If the write-up is on time and the picture is not,
the wedding report will be published at the proper time free
of charge, the, picture later with a caption at a cost of $5.00.
If the picture is late and the bride insists that the wedding
report be held for the photograph, the price for publication
will be $10.00. •

Council learned that the circu-
dation of adult books from the
Huron County library shows an
encouraging increase of 19,000,
offset by a decline in juvenile
reading to give a net rise of 12,222
and a total 1972 circulation to the
end of September - of 256,833
(244,611 in 1971) .
"As in previous reports, circu-
" ' lation of our juvenile books on de-
posit in elementary schools is not
recorded 5o that, the decrease.
shown is hardly significant," said
county librarian, . Miss Ethel
Dewar.
Miss Dewar was given a rous-
ing hand of applause in .recogni-
tion of her great efforts on behalf
of the county library system.
Considerable time was spent on
.the executive committee report
in which a Victorian Order

000 was discussed and finally
turned down. The vote was 29
against the grant and eight in
favor. .
The next meeting of council is
set for the first Thursday in De-
cember. Reeve Jack Alexander
