at the September meeting of the
Women's • Institute, which was
held at the home of Mrs.. Don
Eadie on Wedneseay evening,'
September •13. •

To answer the roll call, mem-
bers were asked to write a List of
the day's menu. Mrs. Dave Eadie
read an interesting article on
food for body and • food for
thought.
Mrs. Don MacAdarri, co -con-
vener, with the hostess, spoke of
the Nutrition Canada Survey that
is being carried -out.
People living in numerous
areas of this vast country, have
been contacted to obtain the
necessary information, such as
diet, occupation, physical
examination and others. All this
data, will be used in an attempt to
ascertain, among other things, if
food preservatives and additives
in quick -serving foods' and bever-
ages, are defective to one's gen-
eral good health.
Since the group's knowledge of
Canada's Food Rules appeared to
be somewhat rusty, ' Mrs, Don
Eadie thoroughly reviewed them,
stressing the important nutrients
in the necessary foods of 'daily
diet.
Mrs. MacAdam then asked.
each one to the k her day's menu
with Canada's Food Rules. Some
found that they had, a deficiency
in milk.
Mrs. Hoover of Brussels,
mother of the hostess, displayed
lour different salads which she
had prepared. Her daughter
passed out copies of the recipes
and they answered any questions
regarding- them i
Since the proof of the salads is
in the eating, all agreed they
were both delicious and nutri-
tious, especially when served
with homemade biscuits.
