Shower held at
Clarkson home
FORDWICH — Mrs. Scott
Clarkson entertained at her home
Friday evening with a miscel-
laneous shower for Miss Mary
Elizabeth Topham who will be
married next month. She was as-
sisted by Mrs. Lorne Kelly and
Mrs. Robert Kelly.
Contests were conducted dur-
ing the evening by Miss. Cathy
Clarkson amain. R. Kelly, after
which the bride-to-be was pre-
sented with gifts for which she
thanked everyone. Lunch was
served by the hostesses.
WINGHAM COOKING
MONSTERS
The first meeting of the Cook-
ing Monsters was held at Mrs.
Jacklin's home. The project was
outlined and pamphlets were dis-
tributed. The girls each made a
pizza . which was enjoyed by
others at the close of the Meeting.
At the°second meeting the girls
were divided into groups, and
made tossed salads, macaroni
salad, shishkabobs and garlic
bread. Roll call, 'my favorite pic-
nic, barbecue or patio food', was
answered by° all members pres-
ent. Sunday suppers were dis-
cussed, also patio, barbecue and
picnic menus.
Auxiliary
plans for fall
FORDWICH — The Ladies'
Auxiliary of Howick Legion
Brandi 307 met in the hall for the
September meeting. Mrs. Bl tty
Bradshaw, president was in the
chair and Mrs. Mel Allan, treas-
urer, gave her report.
Plans were made to send a
delegate to the convention in
Windsor this month. The mystery
prize was donated by Betty Brad-
shaw and won by Eileen Hamil-
ton.
Committees were named to
look after the draw being held at
Fordwich Fairr October 7. Plans
were made . for a Hallowe'en
masquerade dance here on Octo-
ber 27.
Roll call was one cent for every
year of your wedding anni-'
versary. Lunch was served by
three members.
BELMORE 11
The third meeting was held at
the home of Elizabeth Lane with
11 members answering the roll
call. °Judy Dickson read the
minutes.
"Fish, Flesh and Fowl" was
the discussion topic. 'Susan Un-
derwood and Elizabeth Lane
made a salmon loaf for the dem-
onstration which made a tasty
lurch at the close of the reeting.

ghan.

Reg. N:, of Goderich spent the
weekend with her mother, Mrs.

Carl McClenaghan attended
the horse show at Walkerton.

Brantford on Thursday after
visiting with her brother, Tom

Stewart of Teeswater spent the
weekend in the Laidlaw trailer at
Owen Sound.
